Position Overview
A-TEK is seeking a qualified and experienced Cybersecurity Strategy & Executive Engagement Lead serves as the primary contractor lead supporting a federal agency’s public health mission. This position provides critical strategic and operational support to the CISO, DCISO, and executive leadership. The role requires a dynamic individual with demonstrated experience in program management, strategic engagement, executive communications, and cybersecurity initiatives aligned with federal priorities.
This is a remote-eligible position with occasional on-site requirements in Bethesda, MD, subject to government approval. This position requires the ability to obtain and retain a Tier 4 High Risk Public Trust clearance.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Engagement and Strategic Support
- Serve as Task Lead, managing contractor personnel supporting the federal client.
- Provide direct support to the CISO and DCISO on cybersecurity initiatives, including milestone tracking, deliverables management, and coordination of internal and external engagements.
- Assist in the planning and execution of high-level events such as all-hands meetings, leadership roundtables, and conferences.
- Prepare executive-level communications, including speeches, talking points, briefing materials, and remarks.
Stakeholder and Partner Coordination
- Foster and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders across client operating divisions, and partner organizations.
- Lead and coordinate strategic planning sessions, tactical reviews, and interagency collaboration meetings.
- Maintain comprehensive inventories of engagements and provide regular summary reports to the DCISO.
Legislative and Budgetary Awareness
- Monitor relevant legislative activity and Congressional actions related to cybersecurity and health IT.
- Prepare weekly summaries of pertinent developments, highlighting potential implications for cybersecurity operations.
- Provide leadership with informed recommendations based on legislative or budgetary shifts.
Communications and Reporting
- Draft internal and external communications in accordance with client standards and policies.
- Coordinate high-visibility events such as strategic reviews and the Cybersecurity Awards Program for Excellence.
- Support the development and distribution of strategic communications materials, including newsletters, infographics, social media content, and executive updates.
Project and Workflow Management
- Establish and maintain workflow processes and document repositories using platforms such as SharePoint and other collaboration tools.
- Ensure timely production of executive documentation, deliverables, and meeting outcomes.
- Maintain a repository of speaker materials and manage logistics related to awards programs and special initiatives.
Customer Service and Quality Assurance
- Respond promptly to senior leadership inquiries, ensuring alignment with client policies and standards.
- Deliver consistently high-quality outputs, including presentations, reports, and executive briefings.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years supporting cybersecurity leadership in roles involving executive support, program management, or strategic engagement.
- Experience with federal cybersecurity programs and policy frameworks is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage or support cybersecurity strategy, operations, and workforce initiatives.
Technical and Functional Proficiency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools (e.g., SharePoint, Trello, Asana).
- Experience with digital content development platforms (e.g., Canva, Prezi, HaikuDeck) is preferred.
- Knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks including NIST, FISMA, and HHS policy and governance models.
Preferred Certifications
Certifications are not required but are highly desirable:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO)
- ITIL Foundation

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $165,000 – $210,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
