Elasticsearch Software Engineer 

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Job Description 

Everfox is seeking a full-time software engineer to join our team building best-in-class cyber security products.  As a member of our growing team, you will help design and develop technology solutions critical to our company’s success.  The ideal candidate has a strong Elasticsearch background and a passion for enterprise application development in an Agile environment. The team is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. 

Responsibilities 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop and deliver scalable Elasticsearch applications 

• Stay current with industry best practices and share knowledge with team members 

• Ensure features meet requirements through robust technical solutions and high-quality code 

• Learn new skills and adapt to changing requirements as needed 

Required Knowledge and Experience 

• 5+ years professional experience with Elasticsearch applications, including: 

• Designing indices for petabyte-sized data sets 

• Using related technologies (Kibana, Logstash, Beats) 

• Query DSL proficiency 

• Experience deploying/administering Elasticsearch (on-premises preferred), including: 

• Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK) 

• Installation & Administration 

• Index lifecycle management 

• Storage implementation and backup/recovery 

• Experience with VMware ESXi/vSphere virtualization 

• Proficiency with Ansible, YAML, JSON, and Kubernetes 

Nice to Have 

• RDBMS to Elasticsearch integration 

• Kibana dashboard creation 

• Machine learning experience 

• Programming skills (Java, Python) 

• Linux, BASH, and security best practices 

• CI/CD and configuration management (Git, Jenkins, Artifactory) 

• Automated testing experience 

• Experience with AWS/Azure deployments 

Qualifications 

• Ability to obtain US Government-issued secret security clearance 

• BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security or equivalent work experience 

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills 

• Excellent time management and ability to work independently on multiple projects

The actual salary offered may vary within the range based on a candidates' unique experience, locale, and business needs. In addition to a base salary and bonus plans, Everfox offers a generous benefits package including flexible PTO, a 401k match, and contribution to healthcare coverages.
