Job Description:

Our work depends on Systems Engineer with systems integration and cybersecurity experience joining our team to provide multi-domain technical leadership and coordination; oversee technical aspects of field deployments and consult with program management on dependency risks; apply systems engineering methodology to solution customization for emerging requirements, technology innovation insertion, and operations and maintenance process/procedures.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

● Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing Information and Operational Technology (OT and IT) systems

● Provide technical multi-domain leadership and systems integration expertise in support of customer’s critical mission capabilities

●The System Engineering Chief Architect is responsible for technical coordination of Power Systems, Structural Engineering, Communication and Network Engineering, Subject Matter Experts while incorporating their own expertise to resolve technical challenges to include requirements and dependency management, through collaborative problem solving with all relevant stakeholders.

● Support market growth efforts as a subject matter expert in systems engineering and integration on proposal development.

● Work alongside a team of diverse functional subject matter experts to include Project/Program managers, contract capture teams, technologists, and leadership.

● Lead a small team of field technologists to build, field, and maintain CBP deployed capabilities

● Communicating with program, portfolio, and government leadership on technical status with an understanding of costs and schedule constraints.

● Drive technical and process innovation into solutions creating a culture of innovation through practical roadmaps and planning.

● Provide Cyber and Information Assurance leadership to the portfolio and program.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent work experience

● Required Experience: 15+ years of related experience in systems engineering related work and must have at least five years leading technical aspects of systems integration programs  

● Security Clearance Level: DHS-CBP Background Investigation is preferred.

●Required Skills and Abilities:

  • 10+ years in networking technologies.
  • 5+ years of Information Assurance or Cybersecurity experience
  • Candidates should have a functional understanding of a subset of the following technical skills: AI/ML Computer Vision, power systems, structural engineering, wireless networking, sensing technologies such as electro-optical, thermal, fiber optics, radio frequency, LIDAR, and computing systems, large scale systems design, data engineering, information and cyber security, and C2 systems.
  • Communication (including executive level interface), work autonomously and in groups, highly organized, deadline-oriented, continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Proven ability to lead development of technical data packages such as a system description, Interface Control Document (ICD), CONOPS, related appendices and detail artifacts such as an API SDD, OV-1s, and systems and enterprise architecture packages.
  • Experience managing the system engineering lifecycle, including trade studies, analysis of alternatives, proofs of concepts, and operational pilots.
  • Location: Hybrid with 10% travel to customer sites and local offices.

● Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience working in US Customs or Border Protection programs or projects highly desired.
  • Advanced networking certifications (active or expired) such as the CCND.
  • Experience working in a DDIL (Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited Impact) environment strongly preferred.
  • Active CISSP or equivalent
  • Systems Engineering and/or Enterprise Architecture industry certification(s).

The likely salary range for this position is $182,750 - $247,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
