Job Description

Do yourself a power of good

Want to work somewhere where you are doing good for the world, your community and yourself at the same time?

Whatever your role at Vector, we’ll stretch you to find solutions for some of the world’s biggest challenges. And they don’t get much bigger than redesigning our energy future for a world of EV’s and home solar generation to help mitigate the impacts of climate change.

If you want to do a power of good for yourself and the world, consider a career at Vector.

The role

As Cyber Security Analyst, you’ll play an important role in our Security Operations Centre (SOC) ensuring security systems are deployed, maintained and innovated within a fast-paced critical infrastructure environment.

Approximately 25% of your role will involve identifying, investigating and resolving security incidents, with the majority focus of the role being on continuous improvement of our security systems, protocols, governance and risk assessments.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to further grow our security systems as well as your own development - you’ll spend a week rostered resolving security incidents, and then the next 3 on continuous improvement.

Who are we looking for?

  • You’ll be a mid- to senior-level SOC Analyst, tertiary-qualified in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or similar, with 2-4 years’ relevant experience
  • You’ll be experienced with firewalls (functionality and maintenance), web and email security, endpoint security and SIEM, and proficient in Python, Powershell and/or Go
  • Akamai, Check Point, Rapid7 and AWS experience are advantageous, as is control systems security experience
  • You’ll have a track record of taking ownership of problems to see them through to resolution.

Why us?

Whether it’s the opportunity to work on challenges on a truly global scale in collaboration with leading technology firms, or to build a legacy for Auckland and New Zealand through your work; or perhaps to work in an innovative and transformative sector, or our commitment to supporting your development, there’s a myriad of reasons to choose a career with Vector.
