This role may be based in Washington DC, NYC, or Houston.

We seek a highly motivated, detail-oriented, business-minded professional with creativity, initiative and eagerness to take on new challenges to support our crisis and security consulting teams.

This position is for a fee-earning consultant who will support clients and other team members across a broad range of security and resilience projects, including security risk management, risk assessments and security reviews, as well as program assessment, design and implementation across security, business continuity, crisis management, emergency response, disaster recovery and insider risk.

This is a unique opportunity for candidates at an early stage of their career to contribute to impactful projects, expand their skills and gain valuable hands-on experience across the entire breadth of crisis and security risk management.

Tasks and responsibilities

Work as a member of consulting project teams, with guidance from senior team members, to assist with business development activities and deliver security, business continuity, crisis management, emergency response, product recall, and insider risk solutions, including:

  • Supporting projects as a fee-earning consultant (e.g., assessing program maturity, conducting risk assessments, designing crisis management exercises, supporting business continuity reviews, and developing program governance/policy)
  • Working with clients (e.g., educating client staff, presenting findings, working with client teams at all levels to implement solutions)
  • Scoping and writing proposals for client engagements
  • Co-authoring thought leadership and conducting research

Requirements

  • Able to collaborate effectively within a team and work independently
  • One to two years of work experience in a professional environment
  • Ability to produce and deliver well-crafted deliverables for clients, to include report writing and presentations
  • Strong Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, creative and analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to balance competing requirements
  • Eagerness to learn new skills, ability to quickly learn and develop proficiency in new technical tools and concepts
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to undertake frequent, short trips as needed, with travel ranging up to 50%
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Preferred: At least two years of work experience in corporate security, risk management, business continuity or crisis management
  • Preferred: Prior consulting experience
  • Preferred: Understanding of basic risk management principles
  • Preferred: Familiarity with corporate security, risk, crisis management, or intelligence programs
  • Preferred: Master’s degree and/or relevant industry certifications (e.g. CISSP, ABCP, APP)

The base salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
