About CIR

The Centre for Information Resilience (CIR) is an independent, non-profit social enterprise dedicated to identifying, countering and exposing influence operations. Our mission is to raise awareness of the threat to democracy and objective truth from influence operations, including disinformation, and help to counter it.

CIR currently fulfils its mission through three strands – programmes and research, the Media Hub and our Resilience Network. We are a collaborative initiative with global ambitions: we aim to work with partners including civil society, the media, grassroots organisations, academia and democratic governments to coordinate activities.

Whilst CIR’s working language is English, our staff are based across Europe and other countries reflecting the diversity of our workforce and our commitment to international collaboration.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, ambitious, non-profit organisation at a formative time in its development. As a Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in taking forward our mission – managing the delivery of open-source research projects and ensuring the right processes and resources are in place to deliver efficiently, on time, within budget and to a high standard.

Working within a young and developing organisation, you’ll need to be a flexible and collaborative team player, willing to pitch in and multi-task across different projects and work at pace to often tight timeframes. In exchange, we offer a supportive and collaborative work environment, opportunities to take on new challenges and to grow your skills and experience.

Please note this is an open role and applications are constantly being reviewed. If you are not successful we will get back to you.

Requirements

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the management of a CIR project. Specific tasks will include:

  • Playing a key role in the project’s leadership team alongside the project technical lead and relevant CIR Director to oversee delivery and maximise impact.
  • Ensuring projects are managed to budget and quality, deadlines are met, and strong collaborative relationships are built with clients and wider stakeholders.
  • Developing research plans and defining deliverables, establishing effective project management arrangements and quality assurance procedures, tracking project progress and rapidly identifying and resolving issues impeding delivery.
  • Developing strong relationships with CIR colleagues, consultants, and partner organisations to produce high-quality outputs and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Working with open-source investigators and remote sensing experts to develop innovative technical solutions that enhance data collection, verification and analysis.
  • Ensuring the project’s activities and impact are accurately measured and recorded.
  • Coordinating identification, assessment and management of risk across the project.
  • Developing financial forecasts, overseeing expenditures, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with CIR’s corporate policies relating to data protection, cyber security, anti-corruption, safeguarding, conflict sensitivity, and CIR’s Code of Conduct.

Experience Required:

  • A proven track record of successfully delivering research, capacity building or communications projects.
  • Substantial experience of implementing projects funded by the UK government and knowledge of associated policies, regulations and operating procedures.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, financial management, and risk mitigation.
  • Managing and motivating interdisciplinary and multi-national teams.
  • Building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders including donors, beneficiaries and partner organisations.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience of safeguarding investigators and ensuring data security during sensitive research will be advantageous.
  • Security Clearance is not required but please notify us of existing clearances in your application.

Benefits

We are strong believers in empowering our team, and we start by offering flexibility. We also prioritise providing support to our team members in their personal lives.

  • Multiple options for work arrangements (in-office, hybrid, or remote)
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Standard state pension (UK residents)
  • Employee Assistance Program that includes support for mental health, legal matters, and financial issues
  • Allotted budget for home office equipment
  • Annual bonus scheme depending on organisation performance

Working Arrangements

The role will be full-time and can either be office based, hybrid or remote, with the opportunity to work from CIR’s offices in London, if desired (subject to the applicant having the right to work in the UK).

CIR encourages flexible working and is happy to agree a working pattern to suit the successful applicant. We generally expect staff to be available between the core hours of 10.00 -12.00 GMT and 14.00-15.30 GMT each working day unless an exception has been agreed.

CIR is open to recruitment of the right candidate on either a consultancy or fixed-term employment contract basis.

Recruitment Process

To apply, please submit a 1-page covering letter along with your CV in your application. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview, which can be conducted remotely unless specified otherwise. CIR encourages applicants from under-represented communities.

CIR is an equal opportunities employer. If you require adjustments or additional support to complete this process, please let us know in your application.
