Your key responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Okta Engineer to support our government customer. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of Okta-based Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. You will play a critical role in ensuring secure and seamless access to applications and systems for our organization and its users. As an Okta Engineer, you will work closely with internal stakeholders, including security, IT operations, and development teams, to implement identity management solutions that enhance both security and user experience.
- Okta Solution Implementation: Lead and execute the deployment and integration of Okta Identity Cloud solutions (including Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), API Access Management.
- Identity & Access Management (IAM): Design, configure, and manage IAM solutions in Okta many customers onboarding their applications using SAML and OpenID Connection (OIDC)
- System Integration: Integrate Okta with various cloud and on-premises applications and enterprise systems.
- Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards by implementing best practices for IAM, including secure authentication mechanisms, access control, and audit logging.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Okta-related incidents and issues, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.
- Documentation & Training: Develop and maintain clear documentation for Okta configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with security, IT, development teams, and third-party vendors to identify and resolve identity management challenges and streamline user workflows.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Implement and monitor identity management metrics, generate reports, and use data to improve system performance and security.
To qualify for the role you must have
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of experience working with Okta Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, including configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Okta Workforce (SSO, Adaptive MFA, API Access, Lifecycle Management, Okta Workflows etc.).
- Familiarity with Identity Federation (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, etc.) and integrating third-party applications with Okta.
- Strong understanding of security concepts (e.g., authentication, authorization, encryption, etc.) and IAM best practices.
- Experience working with directory services, such as Active Directory and LDAP.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex IAM-related issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred: Okta Certified Administrator or Okta Certified Professional certification.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Due to the nature of our work in the Government and Public Sector, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel on average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment.

What we offer We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $103,800 to $190,300. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $124,600 to $216,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
