We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information Technology (IT) leader for our Information Technology Group to serve as Deputy Group Leader. Our IT Group oversees our Enterprise IT, Classified IT, and Enterprise Cybersecurity operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the secure, efficient, and effective management of our IT infrastructure and systems. This role requires a strategic leader who can collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage complex IT projects, and drive continuous improvement in our technology landscape.   

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the IT department, including Enterprise IT, Classified IT, and Enterprise Cybersecurity.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures that align with company objectives regulatory requirements, and culture.
  • Oversee the management of IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability to meet the needs of the organization.  
  • Ensure the protection of IT assets and the integrity of classified information through robust IT infrastructure strategies and compliance with government regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of IT (VP-IT) and senior leadership to define IT budgets, allocate resources, and prioritize IT projects.
  • Foster innovation and the adoption of new technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and competitive advantage.
  • Lead and mentor IT staff, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the VP of IT on all technology-related matters in conjunction with the rest of the IT Management team.
  • Ensure the successful execution of IT initiatives, from conception through to deployment and post-implementation support.
  • Collaborating with the IT Project Managers to ensure that projects are on time, on budget, and within scope  
  • Collaborate with Purchasing on vendor relationship management, negotiating enterprise agreements, software renewals, and bringing new technology (hardware and software) to STR 
  • Responsible for leading collaboration with the Desktop Services Manager and IT Operations Support teams to provide oversight of a 3–5-year ServiceNow platform expansion plan for use across Business Operations  
  • Responsible for interfacing with Human Resources on IT hiring plans to recruit staff for the Enterprise, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Classified IT teams
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and tracking comprehensive IT training plan for all staff to measure and grow against 

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated effectiveness managing IT projects of various sizes and scope
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and speak to impacts of NIST 800-171 and CMMC compliance
  • Ability to solicit requirements on complex technical projects and offer cost effective solutions that can be delivered in the required timeframe
  • Effective collaboration, communication, interpersonal and team building skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills to triage issues and identify appropriate courses of action
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret government security clearance 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 12-14 years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a defense or highly regulated industry.
  • MS/MBA in related field
  • Strong understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks relevant to the defense industry.
  • Demonstratable leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
  • In lieu of MS/MBA industry IT certs such as PMP, CISSP, CISM, CASP
