The Role
As a Security Analyst on Palantir’s Global Security team, you will identify, monitor, and analyze potential external threats, and mitigate the risks posed to Palantir leadership, assets, and people. In this role you will engage closely with Information Security, Public Civil Liberties, Compliance, Legal, Physical Security, and Internal Investigations teams, as well as other internal/external stakeholders. This role requires established open source investigations and research skills, geopolitical knowledge, strong analytical writing and briefing/debriefing skills, and an appetite to become more technical with data analytics tooling. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly collaborative, and highly motivated. You can operate independently and enjoy solving problems and tackling new challenges. You must be able to synthesize complex information from various sources and convey risk, as well as present investigative/analytical assessment data, in a clear and concise manner to internal and external stakeholders, including company leadership.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the development of global risk and intelligence products aimed at identifying and mitigating business risks presented by factors including natural hazards, geopolitical developments, terrorism, and crime.
  • Monitor, identify, and analyze external security indicators to determine their impact on Palantir leadership, assets, and people.
  • Conduct country risk reports, Executive Protection risk assessments, as well as ad hoc threat assessments and security updates.
  • Brief key stakeholders on intelligence report findings.
  • Explore open source resources and social media for threats and security-related information to identify potential risks to Palantir in advance of or in response to actual incidents.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders when required on incident response.
  • Evaluate the changing global risk environment in real time where Palantir has interests and provide updated security guidance accordingly.
  • Discover emerging threats and trends often with an emphasis on geopolitics.

What We Value

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Broad knowledge of global geopolitical affairs and situational awareness of impacts to the tech sector.
  • Previous experience in an analytical or security related environment assessing threats and supporting real-time business or operational activity.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and execute with minimal direction or oversight.

What We Require

  • 2 to 5 years of prior work experience in Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) collection and analysis, social media monitoring, and conducting analysis on geopolitical developments.
  • A degree in a relevant field (International Relations, Security Studies, Politics, etc).
Salary
The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $80,000 - $140,000/year. Total compensation for this position may also include Restricted Stock units, sign-on bonus and other potential future incentives. Further note that total compensation for this position will be determined by each individual’s relevant qualifications, work experience, skills, and other factors. This estimate excludes the value of any potential sign-on bonus; the value of any benefits offered; and the potential future value of any long-term incentives.
