At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an AI/ML Engineer Senior, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on an AI/ML Engineer Senior joining our team to develop machine learning models that analyze datasets of code packages to identify potential threat vectors, with the goal of generating effective risk assessments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, developers, and product owners, to refine analytical processes and ensure the delivery of robust security solutions.

HOW AN AI/ML ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Enable accurate identification of potential threats based on historical data analysis, which directly impacts the effectiveness of customer tools.
  • Develop machine learning models to analyze open-source software packages and detect malicious intent based on various threat vectors.
  • Integrate these risk assessment and scoring models into the overall system, ensuring seamless interaction with existing tools and workflows.
  • Work closely with data scientists and data engineers to understand data analysis and feature engineering efforts, translating insights into actionable models.
  • Engage in problem-solving discussions with team members, contributing your expertise to resolve challenges in feature engineering and model effectiveness. Deploy models into production environments, ensuring they are scalable and performant in real-world applications.
  • You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our ability to detect and mitigate threats in open-source software packages, ultimately helping to safeguard USSOCOM’s software ecosystem.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Experience in machine learning model development and deployment
  • Proficiency in Python for machine learning
  • Familiarity with FastAPI and ML-to-JS connectors
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address novel challenges in threat detection
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex models to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment
  • US Citizenship is required

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience with specific machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Experience with integrating models into JavaScript-based applications is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of cloud-based ML solutions and deployment strategies.
  • Familiarity with security analytics or threat detection in open-source software ecosystems would be relevant and immediately applicable.
