Brief description
The main purpose of this position is to provide team leadership to the specialists, engineers and administrators in the Endpoint Security (EPS) Section within the Cyber Security Operations (CSO) Division and to deploy cyber security solutions within the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Group in support of the SARB’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Strategy.
Detailed description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
- Fulfil the team lead function pertaining to the development and performance of the EPS team.
- Contribute to the development of the CSO strategy and take responsibility for the implementation thereof in support of an overall Business Solutions and Technology Department (BSTD) security strategy.
- Oversee and guide the investigation, planning, testing and implementation of EPS solutions and related technologies according to industry standards and ensure the provision of EPS solutions in accordance with agreed upon business requirements, in alignment with cost containment initiatives.
- Ensure the provisioning of related third-line support on EPS deployed technologies in accordance with agreed service standards.
- Take responsibility, as a key stakeholder or member of CSO-related projects, and participate in other departmental/divisional projects to contribute towards business objectives.
- Act on senior management requests and be accountable to address or mitigate all risks in the EPS areas as identified by the internal or external auditors and other governance-related assessments.
- Research and identify innovative solutions and technologies by embarking on technical assessments and proof of concepts in an effort to improve existing CSO functionality and services in support of business processes.
- Compile the EPS budget in support of the divisional budget, take responsibility for forecasting and ensure it is aligned with procurement and legal practices.
- Provide technical CSO input in the drafting and finalisation of vendor contracts and internal service standards.
- Liaise and engage with service providers to ensure that service delivery is in line with business requirements and service standards.
- Manage the EPS Section within the CSO environment in alignment with related security policies and frameworks and ensure the development and enforcement of the appropriate controls, processes and technical standards.
- Design and implement scalable, redundant EPS solutions with associated procedures to ensure business continuity (disaster recovery) aligned with business requirements.
Job requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:
- an Honours degree in ICT, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience;
- 8−10 years’ experience in cyber security environments, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role; and
- relevant cyber security certifications will be an advantage.
