GHD Graduate Program 2026 – Adelaide, SA / Security and Telecommunications/ICT Engineering

Who could you be at GHD? 

The GHD Technology Team is recognised as a leader in security and telecommunications. By joining the team, you will be provided with a platform to develop well-rounded design engineering, leadership, project management, and consulting skills. 

The team has two open roles: 

Graduate Telecommunications / ICT Engineer 

Graduate Security Engineer 

Both roles will work closely together, and you will have exposure to both engineering disciplines during the Graduate Development Program. Our two-year program is designed to give you a smooth start to your design consulting career. Alongside your peers, managers and mentors, we’ll help you detangle any challenges along the way. 

Who are we looking for? 

We are looking for final year, or recently graduated engineering students from Telecommunications, Electrical and Electronics, Computer Systems, Security Risk Management or related degrees/fields (Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering Science, Information Technology fields also considered for the right candidate). 

In these positions in our Technology Team you’ll have the opportunity to: 

 

Telecommunications / ICT Engineering 

Security Engineering 

Design complex communications systems– including ICT infrastructure, fibre optic network design, core communications nodes, and advanced audio-visual systems. 

Provide design input to major critical infrastructure projects such as Defence facilities, hyperscale data centres, renewable energy hubs, and transport projects. 

Model microwave radio systems, mobile coverage estimation, outdoor and in-building Wi-Fi modelling 

Develop knowledge in emerging technology, smart buildings, the Internet of Things and systems integration 

Support in a variety of different roles from Design, through to Installation, Testing and Commissioning 

Collaborate with architects, building services engineers, and contractors  

Design complex physical and electronic security systems – incorporating security alarms, electronic access control and biometrics, CCTV including AI analytics  

Collaborate with clients to identify vulnerabilities in existing security systems through threat assessments risk and analysis 

Develop understanding of security principles, asset protection, and designing-in counter-terrorism measures 

Collaborate with architects, building services engineers, and contractors  

Test and commission security systems

Requirements:  

Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics, Computer Systems, Telecommunications Engineering, or related fields  

0 to 3 years’ experience 

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 

Effective communication and teamwork abilities 

Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident that is able to obtain citizenship 

Preferred: 

Interest in ICT / telecommunications, smart buildings, and connected emerging technology OR Interest in physical and electronic security, risk management  

Passionate about consulting and supporting a range of clients on interesting technical and business problems

Psychometric assessments: These quick tests give us a glimpse into how you like to work and your strengths in relation to the role, complementing what we learn during your interview.

These full-time roles kick off in February 2026, though the Technology Team has a large pipeline of projects so there is also casual work opportunities throughout your final year of study to give you a head start.
