Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.

 

The Senior DevSecOps Engineer bridges development, security, and operations teams to create secure, scalable, and efficient software delivery pipelines collaborating with security teams to address vulnerabilities and follows best practices for secure code and system configurations. the development, maintenance and analysis of integrated Master Schedule for Department of Defense programs. This role focuses on automating secure CI/CD pipelines, managing containerized deployments, and ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, and maintains CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds, testing, and deployments
  • Integrates security tools and practices into the software development lifecycle to embed security into all stages of delivery
  • Implements automated security checks, including static and dynamic analysis, vulnerability scanning, and compliance validation
  • Collaborates with security teams to address vulnerabilities and establish best practices for secure code and system configurations
  • Works closely with developers, architects, and operations teams to integrate DevSecOps practices into workflows
  • Facilitates communication between teams to align goals and streamline the software delivery process
  • Monitors system performance, reliability, and security, implementing enhancements to improve efficiency and resilience
  • Optimizes infrastructure through automation and container orchestration, leveraging tools like Kubernetes and Docker
  • Maintains up-to-date documentation for pipelines, security integrations, and operational processes
  • Prepares reports on system performance, security compliance, and deployment metrics. Identifies opportunities to enhance development and delivery processes using emerging tools and techniques
  • Recommends and implements improvements to security practices, system monitoring, and automation frameworks.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, engineering or cybersecurity with at least 3 years in DevSecOps focused role
  • Advanced knowledge of secure coding practices, container security, and automated deployment pipelines
  • Expertise in Kubernetes or OpenShift in DoD or high-security environments
  • Strong proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible) and pipeline tools such as, Azure DevOps
  • Experience working in or supporting environments compliant with RMF, NIST 800-53, and DISA STIGs.
  • Skilled in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Go, or Bash

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust Architecture principles
  • Familiarity with GitOps tools (e.g., Argo CD, Flux) and policy-as-code tools (e.g., OPA/Gatekeeper)
  • ITIL v4 Foundation or higher certification
  • Azure DevOps Expert, or similar cloud certifications

Clearance:

  • TS/SCI clearance required

Certification:

  • DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
  • CompTIA Security+ CE
  • Microsoft AZ-104 or AZ-400
  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner
  • CISSP
