Description

Konami Gaming is looking for a Systems and Network Administrator II to join our team!

This position is a mid-level technical role, responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networks, and related hardware and software platforms; ensures high availability, performance, and security of core systems across the organization; evaluates deployed systems, and provide day-to-day support of those systems, as well as coordinate escalations where appropriate through IT leadership.

This individual requires the ability to act autonomously, must have a strong foundation in systems and network administration, proactive problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with IT policies, standards, and industry best practices. 

 

What you'll be doing:

System Administration & Support

  • Configure, maintain, and monitor Windows and/or Linux server environments, both physical and virtual.
  • Administer enterprise services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, group policy, file services, and print services.
  • Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), ensuring optimal performance and resource allocation.
  • Perform system patching, upgrades, and backups in accordance with organizational policies and maintenance schedules.

Network Administration & Security

  • Support the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Implement and monitor network security tools, including intrusion detection systems (IDS), VPNs, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Monitor network traffic and system logs to detect and respond to anomalies, vulnerabilities, and potential threats.
  • Assist in the enforcement of network segmentation, access controls, and zero-trust principles.

Incident Response & Troubleshooting

  • Respond to escalated service desk tickets related to system, server, or network outages and performance issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring or critical system problems, documenting findings and preventive actions.
  • Work with third-party vendors to resolve hardware and software issues when applicable.

Infrastructure Projects & Improvements

  • Assist with the planning and execution of IT infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
  • Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning initiatives for servers and networks.
  • Recommend improvements to infrastructure architecture, tools, and processes to enhance reliability and scalability.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain detailed documentation of systems configurations, network diagrams, change management logs, and procedures.
  • Ensure systems and configurations comply with corporate policies, ITIL practices, and relevant regulatory or audit requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate technical information and system evidence as needed.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning through routine testing of system backup and failover capabilities.
  • Maintain and validate recovery documentation and ensure critical systems are recoverable per recovery time objectives (RTOs).

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support

  • Work closely with cybersecurity, development, and application support teams to align infrastructure with business needs.
  • Provide mentoring or guidance to junior administrators or technicians, as appropriate.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What we'll want you to have:

Education (Recommended)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field
    OR equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience 

Certifications (Recommended)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) – Data Center Virtualization or newer specialization
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent Fortinet certification
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent baseline security certification
  • Linux+ or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) (for mixed or Linux-heavy environments)

Job Knowledge / Minimum Work Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in systems and/or network administration in a mid-to-large enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Proven track record supporting enterprise networks, virtualized environments, and cloud services
  • Experience in hybrid infrastructure (on-prem + Azure or AWS) is strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate professionally and efficiently, both verbal and written with all levels of the business.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Gaming licensure(s).

Computer / Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2019/2022 administration
  • Linux systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS)
  • Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPO), and domain services
  • File and print server configuration and management
  • VMware vSphere/ESXi administration (v7.x and later)
  • Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS (VMs, Virtual Networks, NSGs, Storage, Azure AD)
  • Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune)
  • LAN/WAN management and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs)
  • Cisco/Fortinet or equivalent enterprise-grade switches, routers, and firewalls
  • VPN configuration and remote access solutions (e.g., IPsec, SSL VPN)
  • Wireless network management (e.g., Aruba, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti)
  • Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools (e.g., Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, CrowdStrike)
  • Firewall and UTM appliance configuration (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, SonicWall)
  • Identity & access management, MFA, and privileged access tools (e.g., Duo, CyberArk)
  • Enterprise backup software (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik)
  • ITSM/ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management)
  • Monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix)
  • Knowledge of ITIL concepts and change management workflows

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimal travel necessary. 0-10%, or as business requires. Employee must be flexible to the travel needs of the business. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time / 40+ hours per week. Must be flexible to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Position shall work primarily in a smoke free office environment. The noise level is low to moderate. Position shall maintain a cubicle or office in close proximity to other cubicles and offices. 
  • Must be comfortable working in an area with limited working space for long hours with the ability to remain seated at computer terminal for extended periods of time. Extreme repetitive motion using keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Must be able to work at assigned location to enable direct communications and interactions with team members, management, and others as necessary, unless traveling for a business-related purpose.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a high-stress, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, paying attention to detail, and meeting assigned deadlines. Demonstrates high integrity, trust, and strict confidentiality. Ability to maintain excellent communication and a positive, respectful, and professional attitude and relationship with clients, employees, peers, co-workers, all levels of management, and all outside organizations conducting business or otherwise interacting with the company. Ability to always act autonomously while adhering to overall department and company policies and procedures.
