This is an exciting opportunity to shape the strategic direction and provide oversight of the cloud infrastructure platforms that power our SaaS offerings. You will ensure these platforms are scalable, reliable, and easy to use by engineering teams. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in establishing a modern DevOps function with focus on security —driving best practices, governance, and automation across cloud-native environments to support continuous delivery and operational excellence. This role is for a strategic leader who ensures that security is an inherent and automated part of the entire software delivery pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
The Director of DevOps with Security Focus is responsible for several key areas:
Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud infrastructure strategy aligned with the business goals.
Establish and maintain cloud governance frameworks, ensuring compliance, cost optimization, and security across all environments.
Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to automate provisioning and management of cloud resources
Ensure high availability, performance, and disaster recovery capabilities across the global cloud infra.
Lead and mentor DevOps team driving best practices, enabling secure CI/CD pipelines, implementing observability and logging solutions.
Conduct regular security risk assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning, implementing mitigating solutions and remediation plans to be compliant with industry standards and regulations.
Develop and enforce security baselines and configuration standards for all cloud services and applications, leveraging cloud security posture management (CSPM) tools.
Design and scale incident response and management programs, including runbook automation, forensic analysis capabilities, blameless postmortems, and continuous improvement loops for security incidents.
Champion reliability best practices across development and infrastructure teams. Define SLO/SLA for the cloud infrastructure.
Continuously improve the developer experience through tooling, documentation, and support.
Stay abreast of emerging cloud security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies, proactively adapting security strategies and controls.
Qualifications:
Minimum BS in Computer Science or related field
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in DevOps domain
Strong skills in leadership, communication and team development demonstrated in a fast growing SaaS organization.
Proven experience in modernizing technology stack and processes to improve operational efficiency leveraging IaaC, CI/CD etc.
Deep understanding of modern SaaS delivery including but not limited to containerization, observability (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, SumoLogic etc.), microservice architecture, serverless computing etc.
In-depth knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
Solid understanding of microservices architecture, serverless computing, and distributed systems.
Deep knowledge of security best practices, such as DevSecOps, zero-trust architectures, data encryption at rest and in transit, and meeting various compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).
Hands-on experience with security incident response, forensic analysis, and vulnerability management processes.
Familiarity with common security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Benchmarks).
Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer) are highly desirable.
