SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a Lead Modeling and Simulation Engineer to work at the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL), Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. The selected candidate will design, develop, and evaluate high-fidelity models of multiple specific sensors and the communication links and C2 nodes associated with them.  In addition, the candidate will evaluate models and simulations acquired by the Virtual Combat Lab (VCL) from other sources and conduct electronic warfare, cyber warfare, and information operations experiments. What You’ll Do 
  • Act as SRC’s Lead Modeling and Simulation Engineer in the Virtual Combat Lab (VCL) to guide and assist with the technical direction of the VCL IPT
  • Interface daily with the Government Customer to ensure mission accomplishment
  • Laison with an integrated product team which may include other Prime contractors and Subcontractors
  • Provide technical expertise to the IPT to include mentoring, training and advice to the junior engineers
  • Desing experiments and Test Matrices for the VCL Model and Simulation scenarios
  • Design, development, and evaluation of high-fidelity models of multiple specific sensors and the communication links and C2 nodes associated with them.
  • Design, development, and evaluation of high-fidelity models of multiple projected threat sensors systems found in current and future Integrated Air Defense System (IADS) environments. 
  • Design, development, and evaluation of weapon models of current and projected “red” and “blue” force weapons used in an IADS.
  • Design, development, and evaluation of high-fidelity models of C2 algorithms and components
  • Design, development, and evaluation of models of various “red” and “blue” EA, ES, and EP systems, EW battle management software, and IO software
  • Design of experiments to evaluate the performance of the models, algorithms, and techniques. Conduct the experiments and Analyze results and generate reports.
What You’ll Bring   
  • Bachelor’s in mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science or equivalent STEM degree and 10+ years’ experience
  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required
  • Experience with following programming languages MATLAB, Python, C, C++ and FORTRAN
  • Complete understanding of radar, electronic attack (EA), electronic protection (EP), electronic support (ES) functions to include ability to program radar models in MATLAB, C, C++ and FORTRAN
  • Experience with AFSIM, DIADS, Suppressor, ESAMS, IMOM, NGTS.  This includes the ability to install, setup, program Type Data Bases (TDB) and Scenario Data Bases (SDB), program run scripts, build design of experiments, extract results, and analyze
  • Ability to apply spherical trigonometry, understanding of satellite ephemeris data contained in Two-Line Element (TLE) sets, understanding and application of Hohmann transfer, ability to convert TLEs into satellite models using MATLAB, C, C++ and FORTRAN.
  • An Understanding of Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS)
  • Ability to use both Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge of Information Operations (IO) to include cyber-attack and defense mechanisms
  • Knowledge of communication systems and protocols
  • Knowledge of Open System Systems (OMS), Docker, Kubernetes
