BridgePhase is a software engineering company focused on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. We are dedicated to supporting the Air Force’s technological edge by delivering innovative software engineering services that directly support cyber operations, threat defense, and mission assurance. Our goal is to be a trusted mission partner in enabling cyber readiness and resilience across the Air Force and U.S. Cyber Command.

We’re looking for well-rounded engineers to join our growing team of DevSecOps and Cloud Infrastructure practitioners supporting the U.S. Air Force’s Unified Platform mission sets. Based in San Antonio, Unified Platform brings together cross-functional teams of cybersecurity and software engineering professionals to deliver mission-critical capabilities. In this role, you'll contribute to automation and infrastructure, security implementation, technical compliance, incident response, CI/CD pipeline enhancement, and continuous improvement in support of cyber defense operations.

Ideal candidates thrive on automating processes, implementing infrastructure as code, and leveraging secure, scalable cloud and containerization technologies. We value problem-solvers who can translate complex technical concepts into practical, mission-focused solutions that defend against evolving threats.

We are hiring for both fully remote positions and hybrid roles based in San Antonio, TX. Candidates local to San Antonio should expect a mix of onsite and remote work as part of a hybrid schedule.

In this position, you can expect to:

  • Design and implement automated build, test, and deployment processes leveraging DevSecOps best practices that align with DoD cybersecurity objectives.
  • Manage containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker to support cyber defense platforms.
  • Perform security hardening and performance tuning for EKS clusters in compliance with DoD and COSC guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts for secure, repeatable Kubernetes deployments.
  • Optimize Kubernetes resource allocation and autoscaling configurations to support dynamic mission workloads.
  • Integrate security tools and continuous scanning practices into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid delivery of hardened code.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Maintain compliance with security controls per NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs, and the DoD Enterprise DevSecOps Reference Design.
  • Manage and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure with a focus on security, scalability, and reliability.
  • Enable automated pipelines that integrate security and operational requirements throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Collaborate across development, security, and operations teams to drive COSC-aligned DevSecOps strategies and support cyber mission readiness.

As with any technical environment, the exact role responsibilities will evolve with the changing needs of our client. We are looking for versatile engineers who thrive on new challenges and can readily adapt to additional responsibilities beyond those listed above.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in any of the following roles or practice areas: CI/CD, DevSecOps, AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Kubernetes, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Automation for System Administration and Operations.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices for building secure services in Cloud-based IaaS/PaaS/SaaS environments.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to support the deployment, troubleshooting, configuration, and interoperability of systems and software within a high-security operational context.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
  • Experience developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) solutions using tools like Packer, Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.
  • Proficiency in working with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and other managed container services.
  • Experience with implementing DoD cyber compliance frameworks and DevSecOps principles in secure environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills and desire to work in a ‘badgeless’ collaborative team environment consisting of Government clients, other Contractors, and Stakeholders.
  • Strong desire to work in a mission-driven team and continuously build new skills.
  • Active secret clearance is required, with TS/SCI preferred.
  • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or technical degree or industry experience equivalent.
  • This is a hybrid position – with both quarterly onsite and remote work supported.

While we've outlined our ideal candidate, we recognize that talent comes in many forms. If you don't check every box but possess a strong technical aptitude in software engineering, a passion for problem-solving, and a drive to learn and grow, we strongly encourage you to apply. We value engineers who demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and a solid foundation in software engineering principles. If you're excited about the challenge of revolutionizing secure software delivery for the U.S. Air Force and are willing to dive into new technologies and methodologies, we want to hear from you. Our team thrives on diverse perspectives and experiences.
