Discover our Products, Places, Services and Spaces.RH is seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President, Associate General Counsel, Commercial Contracts, Privacy, and Cybersecurity to lead critical areas of our legal function. This senior legal leader will bring deep, hands-on expertise across commercial transactions, data privacy, and cybersecurity-developed through direct experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to the business, aligning legal strategy with RH’s Core Values: People, Service, Quality, and Innovation.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, and maintain protocols and playbooks for commercial contracting and contract lifecycle management
- Draft, negotiate, and oversee the execution of a wide range of commercial agreements, including licensing deals, royalty arrangements, statements of work, promissory notes, and vendor contracts
- Provide strategic legal support for e-commerce and commercial transactions, with a focus on data privacy, cybersecurity, and risk mitigation
- Deliver legal guidance on vendor, supplier, and third-party negotiations to ensure alignment with corporate risk and compliance standards
- Advise on global, federal, and state data protection and cybersecurity laws and regulations; monitor emerging legal developments and manage ongoing compliance
- Serve as the legal lead on RH’s Incident Response Team, partnering with Information Security, Internal Audit, and Accounting on the Incident Response Plan, internal investigations, and breach notification obligations
- Support the implementation and ongoing governance of global privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), including close collaboration with RH’s Data Protection Officer
- Counsel cross-functional teams on privacy issues related to marketing, employee data, customer contracts, and vendor relationships
- Participate in and support cybersecurity and privacy audits, assessments, and regulatory compliance reporting
- Collaborate across departments to foster a culture of proactive legal risk management
- Provide cross-functional legal support in related practice areas, including corporate, labor and employment, real estate, litigation, and intellectual property
- Proactively identify process improvements and ensure legal functions are continuously aligned with RH’s strategic objectives
OUR REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of legal experience, including in-house and/or law firm practice, with a strong focus on cybersecurity, data privacy, and commercial transactions for publicly traded companies
- Proven ability to lead and advise on complex commercial contracts, procurement activities, and legal issues related to cybersecurity and data privacy
- Prior in-house experience in the retail, e-commerce, or manufacturing sectors is preferred
- Juris Doctor from a top-tier accredited U.S. law school; licensed to practice law in California
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with sound legal judgment and sharp business acumen
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-impact projects in a fast-paced, global environment
- Self-directed, results-driven, and proactive leader with a high degree of personal initiative
