We are growing and seeking a Lead Security Engineer to join our Auckland office, helping us make Termius the primary work instrument for many engineers worldwide in their daily routines.

What you will do at Termius:

  • Coordinate security operations and activities to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Respond to emergencies and security incidents promptly and effectively.
  • Oversee security process to identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments to ensure the safety of business and customers.
  • Provide the engineering team with training and guidance on security processes and procedures.

What your daily duties will look like

  • Perform system administration duties (develop and implement system programming standards, training documentation, administrator handbooks, policies, and procedures).
  • Respond to the customer and staff questions regarding security.
  • Reviewing the product documentation and changes in software design.
  • Evaluate vendors, oversee the services integrations, and provision access to these services.
  • Oversee and implement long-term mitigations for incidents.
  • Assist the backend lead in maintaining backend availability.

Requirements for the role

  • 3+ years of experience working in security operations.
  • Proficiency in security compliance standards like SOC2 and NIST frameworks.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Experience with managing audits and compliance documentation.
  • Solid knowledge of system design principles (e.g., scalability, security).
  • Experience with SSH protocol and network engineering.
