Zaden Technologies is seeking a Lead DevSecOps Engineer to spearhead our Modeling & Simulation Platform team in developing and maintaining cutting-edge defense simulation infrastructure. This position will drive the architecture, implementation, and operations of scalable DevSecOps platforms that support critical defense modeling and simulation environments. The role involves leading a specialized platform team while providing hands-on technical expertise in cloud-native, containerized deployment pipelines and security-first development practices.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a specialized platform engineering team supporting DevSecOps infrastructure for an Air Warfare Modeling and Simulation training group
• implement, and configure advanced DevSecOps platforms for both cloud and on-premises environments
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, incorporating comprehensive security scanning and automated testing
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for scalable, repeatable deployments across multiple environments
• Lead the development and maintenance of Kubernetes-based container orchestration platforms
• Integrate security tooling including SonarQube, Fortify, and other vulnerability assessment tools into development workflows
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize platform services and deployment strategies
• Ensure high reliability and availability of simulation platforms supporting mission-critical operations
• Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS GovCloud and other authorized environments
• Support transition engineering efforts and knowledge transfer activities for platform capabilities

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• 7+ years of experience in software development with proficiency in C++, Python, and web application development
• Strong expertise in DevSecOps tools and processes including GitLab, SonarQube, and security scanning tools
• Extensive experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration platforms
• Proven experience in platform development including core platform services and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience designing and maintaining systems to achieve high reliability and availability
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and cloud-native deployment strategies
• Strong background in cybersecurity principles and secure development practices
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and implementation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active security clearance
• Master's degree in relevant technical field
• Experience with AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling) strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Platform One Big Bang and Iron Bank containerization standards
• Experience with Kessel Run development environments and security frameworks
• Familiarity with modeling and simulation frameworks and deployment requirements
• Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures
• Knowledge of DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and security compliance processes
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools for large-scale distributed systems
• Background in supporting defense simulation centers and operational environments
