TSC is seeking a highly qualified professional Vice President of Security and Information Technology. This role serves as a corporate leader that will be responsible for taking TSC to increasingly higher levels of digital capabilities, proficiency and security (both cyber and physical). This position also includes architecting and maintaining a compliant infrastructure to include establishing supporting internal platforms, policies, and procedures, as well as enabling TSC to be become effective in the use of digital tools, including AI, to deliver innovative, high-quality products that meet or exceed expectations quickly and cost effectively.
Accordingly, this role is responsible for developing the strategic direction for cybersecurity, physical security and IT by leading the related planning, budgeting, and resourcing of the Security and IT Departments to ultimately meet or exceed the desired outcomes. This process must ensure compliance with regulations and standards, alignment with the company's vision, and provide effective guidance, engagement with and support to the P&Ls and other corporate executives.
This role will report to the CEO and will lead the Security and IT Departments to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all IT systems and data across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, and proven ability to align IT systems with business objectives. This role can be performed on a remote basis, with the ability to come into the Crystal City (Arlington, VA) office as needed.
Key Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Security Leadership
- Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s physical security, cybersecurity, and AI strategy, policies, and procedures.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures to safeguard the organization’s facilities, employees, systems, and assets.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to address vulnerabilities and potential threats.
- Conduct regular security risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Lead incident response efforts and manage the investigation, containment, and resolution of security breaches or violations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards such as the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
- Oversee security audits and vulnerability assessments.
IT Operations Management
- Lead the IT department in maintaining reliable and secure IT infrastructure, systems, and networks.
- Develop and manage IT budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure adequate IT solutions and equipment are provided and maintained to serve the needs of each of the business units and corporate infrastructure.
- Ensure business continuity through planning and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies in coordination with Security processes and procedures.
- Oversee helpdesk and technical support operations to ensure timely and effective support.
Strategic Planning and Leadership
- Align Security and IT initiatives with the organization's overall goals and strategy.
- Develop and execute and AI strategy that includes the selection and implementation of AI tools and associated security measures required for compliant and safe use.
- Manage overall budgets and staffing to support present and forecasted needs.
- Develop and manage the suite of tools and systems to meet the performance and budgetary needs of the company.
- Identify and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency and cost optimization.
- Mentor and manage IT and security staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Establish process of instantiating tailored indicators of compromise (IOCs) into network and security infrastructure.
- Develop key performance indicators and metrics that enable assessment of the organizations’ performance against defined compliance requirements and strategic goals.
- Provide strategic input to executive leadership on emerging technologies and potential business impacts.
- Develop systems and tools that support established subsidiaries or business units that need isolated or independent enclaves.
- Support review and integration of potential acquisitions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master’s degree preferred) and 18 or more years of progressive experience in IT Management.
- Experience serving in a Director or higher position directly supporting executive leadership and overall company strategy (10 or more years of recent security and IT focused leadership)
- US Citizenship and an active TS SCI security clearance
- Proven experience in designing and implementing IT infrastructure and security frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms, networking, and enterprise systems.
- Relevant certifications (C/CISO, CISSP, CRISC) required.
- Expert knowledge of regulatory policies and requirements involving federal government agencies, i.e., Department of Defense, etc.
- Proven capability in establishing and managing procedures for successfully tracking and managing security and IT infrastructures that meet or exceed CMMC requirements,
- Experience being responsive to and supporting security audits, passing compliance testing, and establishing procedures to satisfy future audits,
- Customer service experience and effective communication skills, including experience working with organizations across several locations including OCONUS support.
- Experience with due diligence and integration support for company acquisitions.
