ABOUT THE ROLE:
Teague is seeking a strategic, adaptable, and people-centered IT Director to lead enterprise-wide technology initiatives with a focus on infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity, cloud transformation, and cost-effective innovation.
Success in this role requires more than technical expertise—it demands emotional intelligence, business acumen, and an appreciation for creativity and supporting a creative services firm. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where ambiguity is common and the balance between rigor and speed is key. This role will be central to shaping and executing IT strategies that are secure, scalable, and aligned with Teague’s multidisciplinary business.
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:
Occasional travel to support client and/or vendor projects or meetings.
WHO YOU ARE:
You’re a strategic thinker with a passion for people, technology, and progress. You know how to lead with both empathy and authority, balancing deep technical expertise with the emotional intelligence needed to navigate a creative, multidisciplinary environment. You thrive in ambiguity and fast-paced settings, guiding your team through infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity improvements, cloud transformation, and forward-thinking innovation—all while staying grounded in what’s practical and cost-effective.
At your core, you're adaptable and future-focused. You understand the business of design and the importance of supporting creative teams with scalable, secure, and flexible tech solutions. You’re not just a tech leader—you’re a business partner, a collaborator, and a cultural contributor who ensures IT strategy is aligned with both enterprise goals and human experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
OWNING
- Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure, scalable, and reliable IT infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Hire, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team focused on innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead high-impact IT initiatives and certification projects with strong attention to regulatory and budgetary details—comfortable with evolving priorities and shifting direction when necessary.
- Collaborate with design and strategy teams to deliver tech solutions that support high-aesthetic, iterative workflows—respecting form as much as function.
- Partner across departments to develop integrated, business-relevant, and cost-effective technology strategies.
- Promote a responsive, service-oriented culture that prioritizes user satisfaction and employee experience.
THINKING
- Oversee and optimize the use of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other SaaS tools to ensure agility, availability, and cost-efficiency.
- Drive Teague’s approach to AI integration, including business case development, automation strategies, data governance (quality, availability, and ethics), and awareness of AI-related legal/IP risk.
- Develop and implement cost-reduction strategies by optimizing IT assets, transitioning to cloud platforms, and renegotiating software contracts.
DOING
- Manage enterprise security and compliance efforts across frameworks such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, FedRAMP, ITAR, and related tools (e.g., MS GCC, FigGov).
- Translate business needs into technical solutions and support new revenue models with IT systems that enable growth and agility.
- Communicate technical concepts in clear, accessible terms for non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or ITIL.
- 10–15 years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in a senior or director-level role.
- Proven experience managing complex IT environments—hybrid and cloud-first infrastructures.
- Direct experience leading or supporting CMMC or NIST certification projects, including framework interpretation and operational execution.
- Bridges the gap between technical and non-technical audiences with clarity and empathy.
- Knowledge of and experience with regulatory frameworks: NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0, FedRAMP, ITAR, and related compliance tools.
- Ability to quickly learn and implement new compliance frameworks—including leading policy development, gap assessments, and remediation plans.
- Adept at cloud-based service models, with a strong understanding of modern IT operations and their business impact.
- Track record of reducing IT costs without compromising performance or user satisfaction.
- Familiarity with creative or design-centered environments or demonstrated ability to support workflows that prioritize aesthetics and iteration.
- Expertise in software license management, vendor relationships, and cloud service procurement.
- Security clearance (active or previously held) preferred but not required.
- Appreciates and supports environments where creative form may take precedence over technical constraints.
- Understands how IT supports diverse business models and evolving service lines.
- U.S. person status is required due to project compliance.
