As a Senior Cyber Engineer you will contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of secure cloud and hybrid solutions, ensuring alignment with ACSC PROTECTED standards and industry best practices. Working within multi-disciplinary teams, you will conduct security assessments, provide expert guidance on cybersecurity architecture and frameworks, and support the development of proposals and security policies. You’ll also play a key role in implementing tools such as SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability management solutions, while contributing to internal capability development through coaching, peer reviews, and IP creation. This role requires a commitment to continuous learning and the secure handling of sensitive information.

Please note NV1/NV2 clearance is a requirement for this role.

Requirements

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to assigned projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver secure customer outcomes. Lead teams within your capability area when required, and support the development, estimation, and review of proposals and submissions.
  • Design, build, and implement secure cloud and hybrid solutions that meet ACSC PROTECTED requirements, incorporating industry best practices and frameworks.
  • Conduct cybersecurity audits, gap analyses, and risk/vulnerability assessments across current and future-state architectures.
  • Provide expert guidance on cloud/hybrid cybersecurity architecture, security policies, processes, and the alignment of security requirements to frameworks.
  • Design and implement cybersecurity solutions including SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability management tools.
  • Support the development and implementation of security policies and plans, and ensure the secure handling and storage of classified and sensitive information.
  • Participate in the development of internal methodologies, collateral, and IP. Support team capability uplift through coaching, peer reviews, and professional development initiatives.
  • Continuously develop your own skills and explore new capability areas to broaden your professional expertise.

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in cybersecurity engineering, including infrastructure, network, endpoint and cloud security
  • Demonstrated experience implementing cloud and hybrid security solutions
  • Recent experience writing documentation to meet security operations and risk management compliance requirements, including operational SOPs, IRPs, SRMPs, SSPs, SoAs, and SRAs.
  • Strong consulting and engagement experience with the ability to represent cyber security viewpoints to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience working within an Agile project team as a cyber security professional.
  • Proven experience working on cloud-focused cybersecurity projects.
  • Solid working knowledge of security assessments and risk management.
  • Recent experience with security design, architecture, and implementation for Microsoft cloud services.
  • Experience applying the ACSC Information Security Manual (ISM) to the cloud or hybrid solutions
  • Auditing and assessment skills.
  • Familiarity with Australian cyber regulation and compliance standards (Essential Eight, SOCI, NIST. ISM).
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment with experience integrating security into the DevOps lifecycle.
  • Occasional travel to onsite client locations may be required.
