We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Cybersecurity Administrator 3 to join our talented, dynamic team.    

As a Cybersecurity Administrator 3, you will be on the front line in safeguarding Treasury Department digital assets and responding to potential cyber threats. You will play a critical role as a senior technical expert supporting the Security Operations Center (SOC) by managing, optimizing, and securing critical cybersecurity systems. This advanced role leads complex administration tasks, drives strategic improvements, and collaborates with leadership to enhance the SOC’s operational resilience and security posture.

This position will be required to work onsite daily in the DC Metro area, with site visits to Martinsburg, WV and Memphis, TN.

Duties

As a Cybersecurity Administrator 3, you will work on the Cybersecurity engineering team responsible for facilitating operational efficiency, stakeholder coordination, and mission-aligned cybersecurity initiatives. This position will support the maintenance of the Network Contingency Plan and direct support during COOP exercises or real events. Additionally, this role will lead audit preparations and support vulnerability assessments, ensuring compliance with federal standards and regulatory requirements. 

In this role, a typical day will include: 

  • Lead patch management, configuration updates, and system hardening per security policies (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, FISMA). 
  • Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of SOC security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, firewalls) to ensure continuous monitoring and system integrity. 
  • Lead systems and desktop administration, operations, tuning, and advanced troubleshooting of the SOC systems, servers, desktops, laptops, and virtual machines.
  • Lead the virtualization of services as requested using VMWare products.  
  • Track, report and present all operating system and hardware costs associated with maintaining SOC equipment and make recommendations regarding potential cost-saving initiatives.  
  • Lead the deployment, maintenance, and ensure availability of all endpoint and network security capabilities to support SOC environment and its capabilities. 
  • Lead collaboration opportunities with SOC analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate new technologies and improve tool performance. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity related field with 7 years of experience (11 years of experience in lieu of degree) 
  • Active Secret Clearance 
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, Splunk Certified Admin) strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with network protocols, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and security frameworks 
  • Advanced proficiency with security administration tools (e.g., Splunk, Tenable, Microsoft Active Directory) and network protocols
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills
