The development center of SAP in Bulgaria plays a key role in the defining and developing of the SAP Business Technology Platform. Summary:

We are looking for a User Assistance Developer with a strong focus on user experience design to join our SAP S/4HANA team for Product Compliance in Sofia.

On the user assistance development side, you will work side by side with our development team on creating different kinds of high-quality documentation resources for our customers. You will have the opportunity to try out new features before anybody else and it’s up to you to come up with concepts for design and documentation that help our customers to use our software to its full potential.

On the user experience design side, you will be a first touchpoint for customer requirements and collaborate closely with the PM and DM on satisfying these requirements and shaping the best experience with the product.

The Role:

As a user assistance developer, you will:

• Plan, design, develop, and edit UA deliverables in various formats, ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to SAP standards.
• Research user information needs by collaborating with subject-matter experts and engaging with users through feedback channels.
• Acquire, analyze, and organize source information, such as functional specifications and user stories, to create accurate and relevant content.
• Ensure content quality through proofreading, editing, usability testing, and compliance with localization and accessibility standards.
• Manage deliverables and milestones, contribute to cross-functional projects, and stay informed on industry trends and emerging UA technologies.
• Contribute to the usability of the software by reviewing UI screens and texts.
• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders (developers, DM, PM) to constantly improve the quality of the documentation.
• Actively participate in cross-department/cross-company communities and projects to improve UA tools, processes, concepts, or content.

On the user experience design side, you will:

• Get an early touchpoint with customer requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering) to implement and refine designs.
• Develop and communicate design strategies timely and effectively to enable continuous development of features.
• Ensure usability and accessibility standards are met throughout the design lifecycle.
• Conduct user research, usability design and testing.  
• Ensure app design is finalized on time, covers product requirements and UX guidelines, and successfully passes required verifications.
• Continuously update app design based on changing requirements or needs to keep it up-to-date.

What you bring:

• Fluency in English.
• Practical experience in creating product documentation (preferably XML authoring or DITA).
• Practical experience in creating mockups (preferably using Figma).
• Excellent communication skills, a passion for people and for passing on your knowledge to others.                
• Ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Willingness to quickly acquire knowledge in new areas and adapt to change.
• Committed to high-quality work.
• Degree in languages, technical writing, or a related profession.
• Background in software development is considered an advantage.
