Work You’ll Do

  • Triage Data Loss Events / Incident Response
  • Analyze identified malicious activity to determine weaknesses exploited, exploitation methods, effects on system and information.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and correlation across a wide variety of all source data sets (indications and warnings).
  • Monitor external data sources (e.g., cyber defense vendor sites, Computer Emergency Response Teams, Security Focus) to maintain currency of cyber defense threat condition and determine which security issues may have an impact on the enterprise.
  • Perform security reviews and identify security gaps in security architecture resulting in recommendations for inclusion in the risk mitigation strategy.
  • Plan and recommend modifications or adjustments based on exercise results or system environment.
  • Assess and monitor cybersecurity related to system implementation and testing practices.
  • Ensure that cybersecurity-enabled products or other compensating security control technologies reduce identified risk to an acceptable level.
  • Reconstruct a malicious attack or activity based off network traffic.
  • Analyze and report organizational security posture trends and report system security posture trends.
  • Assess adequate access controls based on principles of least privilege and need-to-know.

Our Cyber Defense & Resilience offering assists clients in defending against advanced threats by transforming security operations, monitoring technology, data analytics, and threat intelligence. Helps manage and protect dynamic attack surfaces and provides rapid crisis and cyber incident response, ensuring clients can be ready for, respond to, and recover from business disruptions.

Qualifications 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Active TS – Q clearance required.
  • Must be local to Las Vegas, NV and have the ability to be onsite up to 5 days a week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience identifying threats, vulnerabilities, exploitations and applying security controls, tools, and techniques to detect or gather information on domains or subjects.
  • Very good understanding of how TCP/IP network’s function (protocols, ports, proxy log analysis, domain name resolution).
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to leverage technical skills and correlate data to streamline analysis quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to navigate and work/communicate effectively across teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide data in a polished and easy-to-understand format.
  • Experience and hands-on knowledge with c Data Loss Prevention security controls (Data in Motion/Use/Rest) and other Incident Response tools.
  • Experience with Splunk.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $93,225.00 to $155,375.00.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
