The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Principal Architect to provide technical leadership and guidance to plan, organize, develop, and assist the government in system architecture approaches and to provide support to complex Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Commercial Cloud technical program efforts. Will provide expertise in DOD Intelligence Community (IC) areas such as doctrine, policy, and organization. Must possess a proven subject matter expertise in areas such as command and control, intelligence, acquisition, data handling, space, cyber, and intelligence data handling.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the government to identify, understand, to specify broad system requirements, and to provide recommendations/follow through on DOD IC policy.
• Partner with program team members to gather/translate requirements and design solutions to meet the needs of the client.
• Develop and maintain system architecture, key capabilities, performance requirements, and operational concepts.
• Oversee and define design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with DOD IC customer specifications.
• Define client requirements for solutions including services, products, technologies and capabilities which encompass IT engineering disciplines. These solutions may require hardware, software, networking, cloud architectures (AWS and Azure), communications, cyber, services or other unique government-specified engineering knowledge in order to design, develop, and support the clients.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert where applicable with program management leads and clients.
• Recommend technological application programs to accomplish long-range objectives.
• Apply and/or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts.
• Demonstrate professional competence in applying the theoretical foundations of computer science and engineering, including computer system architecture and system software organization, the representation and transformation of information structures, and the theoretical models for such representations and transformations; specialized knowledge of the design characteristics, limitations, and potential applications of systems having the ability to transform information.
• Designing and implementing cloud computing strategies for organizations
• Responsible for helping to optimize cloud costs and performance
• Collaborating with development teams to implement cloud-native solutions

Qualifications:

Required: 

• Understands Cloud-Base architecture concepts, to include Cloud based cost management models/practices, Landing Zones, role-based account management, multi-tenancy, etc.
• Experience with cloud migration projects
• Familiar with the Department of Defense (DoD) Cloud Initiatives, including DevSecOps platforms (Platform One), harden container image repository (Iron Bank), platform as a service (PaaS) (Party Bus).
• Bachelors Degree in scientific or engineering discipline and at least 12 years experience of increasing responsibility in DOD system/software development and considered subject matter expert in assignment related technical area.
• Comp TIA Security+ Certification or higher.
• TS/SCI Cleared.

Desired:

• Advanced Degree in engineering or cyber operations.
• CISSP certification.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of networking concepts
• Familiarity with cloud-based monitoring and logging tools
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration toolsets (Docker, Kubernetes)

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$130,600 - $287,200
