We are currently looking for a Head of Security based in our Vilvoorde office.
Your Mission:
You will provide strategic leadership and comprehensive security oversight for Goodman Data Centres' European portfolio. This executive position is responsible for developing and implementing robust security strategies, ensuring the physical and digital protection of our critical infrastructure across European markets.
More concretely, this means you will get the opportunity to build on:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive security strategy for Goodman's European data centre portfolio, aligning with global security objectives and local market requirements
- Build and lead a pan-European security leadership team, fostering a culture of security awareness, proactive risk management, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with the Data Centre executive team to identify and mitigate security risks and drive strategic security initiatives in the European market
Physical & Cyber Security Management
- Design and implement a holistic security framework covering physical security, cybersecurity, and information protection for all European data centre facilities
- Establish and optimize security protocols, procedures, and standards to enhance overall security posture and resilience
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response and incident management protocols
- Oversee critical security infrastructure, including access control systems, surveillance, intrusion detection, and cybersecurity measures
Risk Assessment, Mitigation & Compliance
- Design and implement a multi-layered risk assessment approach (Physical, Cyber, Social engineering, Supply Chain, Insider actor etc) and appropriate risk mitigation strategies
- Establish and maintain a robust threat intelligence program to anticipate and prepare for emerging security challenges
- Ensure full compliance with international and local security standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
- Manage and coordinate security audits and certifications (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2)
Stakeholder Management & Team development
- Maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, vendors, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies across European jurisdictions
- Act as the primary security liaison for enterprise clients, ensuring their specific security requirements are met
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performance security team across multiple European locations
- Foster a security-first culture through training, awareness programs, and leadership engagement
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
- Develop, implement, and regularly update security-focused business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Ensure the resilience of data centre operations against physical and cyber security threats
- Conduct regular scenario-based response planning, predictive threat modelling exercises to test and improve response capabilities
Financial Management
- Lead the budgeting process for European security operations
- Manage security-related operational budgets, identifying cost-effective solutions without compromising security standards
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure security effectiveness and operational efficiency
Do you recognize yourself?
- 15+ years of progressive experience in security management, with a focus on critical infrastructure protection
- 10+ years in senior leadership roles, with demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-site security operations
- Proven track record of developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies in high-stakes environments
- Extensive experience in both physical and cybersecurity domains
- Deep understanding of data centre security infrastructure, including physical security systems and cybersecurity protocols
- Comprehensive knowledge of international security standards and compliance requirements
- Advanced leadership and team development capabilities
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong financial acumen and budget management experience
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are advantageous
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Security Management, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related technical field required
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CPP, PSP) are highly valuable
