About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our Sime Industrial, Acacia Ridge based Team on a permanent fulltime position.

 

Reporting to the Manager-Cybersecurity Operations you will support the deployment of security solutions to support our organisational risk management and security strategies.

 

You will be responsible for protecting the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of Sime Industrial’s information assets and will achieve this by implementing, maintaining, and applying a suite of architectural frameworks and security standards that aim to mitigate risk.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust security solutions and frameworks to safeguard enterprise systems, networks, and data.
  • Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security into infrastructure and application development lifecycles.
  • Monitor systems for vulnerabilities, threats, and suspicious activity, and lead the investigation of security breaches.
  • Develop and maintain incident response procedures to ensure timely mitigation and recovery from cyber incidents.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and gap analyses to ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • collaborate with and provide advice to internal team members, external outsourced vendors and third-party stakeholders to establish, implement and maintain compliant security controls and solutions.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in a network and/or security engineer role 
  • Thorough understanding of cybersecurity analysis and delivery in addition to knowledge of IT security best practice and solutions
  • Strong knowledge of incident response methodologies, tools, and industry frameworks
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO27001, NIST, ACSC Essential 8 / ISM.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
