The Role:

The Security Architect plays a pivotal role in transforming AP+ into the leading-edge digital payments firm for Australia. This role serves as the vital link between our cyber security capability and our business objectives by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of analytical, testing, and cyber security tasks of our products features. It spans across both agile product teams and waterfall project teams across the business, ensuring that the architecture aligns with business needs, cyber requirements and regulatory requirements. 

Proposed Position Responsibilities are:

• Translate business requirements into viable technical solutions with appropriate security controls for the enhancement of our payment solutions. This involves working with both agile product teams and waterfall project teams. 

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse and understand business security needs, and translate these needs into architecture and design security requirements. 

• Ensure architectural security and consistency across the entire product landscape. 

• Provide technical security guidance and leadership to development teams in the implementation of the designed solutions. 

• Perform regular reviews of system security architecture and design, offering recommendations for improvements or enhancements in alignment with the AP+ Secure by Design practice. 

• Consult and advise the business on solution architecture security requirements. 

• Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding the company's business plan and its technology standards. 

The capabilities we’re seeking are:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields. 

• Professional cyber security certifications (e.g., SABSA, CISSP) would be an advantage. 

• Minimum 7 years of experience in a Security architecture role, ideally in the payment industry. 

• Proven experience in designing and implementing complex systems architectures. 

• Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. 

• Strong understanding of security architectural principles, models, patterns, and perspective on security in the financial industry. 

• Knowledge of the full technology stack including front-end, back-end, database, network, and DevOps. 

• Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards in the payments industry in Australia.
