Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Space Systems has an opening for an Associate Cyber Systems Engineer / Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals, and the position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
You will be part of a team responsible for designing and implementing cyber security requirements and controls for advanced space systems. This includes risk assessment of the system of interest to attackers by applying risk analysis methodologies such as attack trees and cyber threads (drawn from security CONOPS) to identify vulnerabilities and refine solutions and/or mitigations. You will work across teams to define and document the cyber system design and participate in the cyber requirements management to analyze and decompose requirements to satisfy security principles: Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability as well as Resilience across the system (Elements, Subsystem, Components) and associated cyber metrics.
Primary responsibilities include supporting Cybersecurity team and interfacing with multidisciplinary teams to understand system security posture.
*This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.
*Please be aware that these positions will also be contingent upon capturing program award, obtaining customer funding, and holding final clearances prior to start date.*
Basic Qualifications for Level 1 Associate Cyber Systems Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
Candidate must have (and be able to maintain) an active, within scope, or current U.S. Government DOD Top Secret security clearance at time of application and prior to start date OR Candidate must have active SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years at time of application and prior to start date
Knowledge of cyber-security principles as applied to the SE lifecycle
Basic Qualifications for Level 2 Cyber Systems Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 2+ years of engineering experience OR Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
Candidate must have (and be able to maintain) an active, within scope, or current U.S. Government DOD Top Secret security clearance at time of application and prior to start date OR Candidate must have active SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years at time of application and prior to start date
Knowledge of cyber-security principles as applied to the SE lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DoD Systems Security Engineering activities
Experience working on advanced space or ground systems
Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for both IC (ICD 503) and DoD (DoDI 8510.01) communities
Experience working on a multidisciplinary team with writing technical principals
Knowledge of Program Protection and OPSEC or Key Management
Familiarity with Continuous Monitoring, Software Assurance
In possession of a current IASAE II certification (CISSP preferred) in accordance with the DoD 8570
