RMC is hiring for a Systems Administrator to support services we provide to the Enterprise Systems (ES) Department of the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic Service Centers in Charleston, SC and New Orleans, LA. This support will be primarily for the Data Center and Cloud Hosting Services (DC2HS) Division. As a Systems Administrator, you will install and maintain operating systems and related software to ensure stable performance.
Job Duties:
- Installation of hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, and web page design, interface and updates, and local system design documentation.
- Evaluate system specifications, input and output processes, and working parameters for hardware and software compatibility.
- Troubleshoot networking and operating system problems.
- Must be familiar with shell and kernel-level programming and system-specific requirements.
- Research and recommend innovative and possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
- Perform work under general supervision.
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate a group.
- Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
Requirements
- Two (2) to four (4) years with Bachelor’s or 6 years with High School Diploma/GED of professional experience in systems administration to include supporting daily operational requirements of computer network systems including workstation, file servers, and web servers.
- Individual shall meet the latest Cybersecurity workforce certification/training in accordance with DoD 8570.1M and subsequent DoD 8140 manual as applicable.
- At least one (1) of the following: CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
- Individual shall have experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and implementing network security tools including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services.
- An Active DOD Secret Security Clearance is required to start.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $67,000 to $110,000 (annually).
