About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Security Data Analytics & Reporting Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. This role is pivotal in transforming complex security data into actionable insights through advanced analytics, automation, and visualization. You will work closely with Security Operations Center (SOC) teams, threat analysts, and leadership to deliver impactful dashboards, reports, and metrics that drive strategic and operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to visualize security data and SOC metrics.
- Automate data workflows and reporting processes using Power Automate and other Microsoft Power Platform tools.
- Collaborate with SOC and threat intelligence teams to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs).
- Integrate and normalize data from various security tools (SIEMs, EDRs, vulnerability scanners, etc.) to support comprehensive analytics.
- Leverage AI tools and techniques to enhance anomaly detection, trend analysis, and predictive insights.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all reporting and analytics platforms.
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Stay current with industry trends in cybersecurity analytics, AI, and automation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in security analytics, data engineering, or a related role.
- Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and custom visual development.
- Strong experience with Power Automate for workflow automation and integration.
- Deep understanding of SOC operations, security event data, and common metrics (MTTD, MTTR, alert volumes, etc.).
- Experience working with large datasets and integrating data from multiple security platforms.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tools (e.g., Azure ML, OpenAI, or similar) for enhancing security analytics.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Certified SOC Analyst (CSA), or GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for data manipulation and automation.
- Knowledge of cloud security (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and cloud-native security analytics tools.
