Position Title: Enterprise Architect

Location: Washington, DC

Clearance: TS/SCI

 

Position Summary:

Command Cyber Solutions is seeking an experienced and strategic Enterprise Architect to lead the design and alignment of IT systems, business processes, and technology initiatives across the enterprise. The Enterprise Architect will possess a broad understanding of enterprise IT domains, including application, infrastructure, data, and security architecture, and will play a critical role in ensuring that all technology solutions support current and future business objectives. This role requires excellent analytical, communications, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to bridge the gap between complex technical solutions and organizational goals.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and roadmaps that align with business strategies and technology capabilities.

  • Collaborate with business and IT leaders to translate organizational goals into actionable technology strategies.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance agility, scalability, and resilience.

  • Lead architectural reviews and provide oversight on system design, integration, and modernization initiatives.

  • Ensure alignment of enterprise architecture with cybersecurity policies, compliance standards, and risk management frameworks.

  • Define target-state architectures and guide system development efforts toward long-term enterprise objectives.

  • Document business processes, application portfolios, infrastructure assets, and integration points.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in architecture governance and support architecture review boards or technical councils.

  • Facilitate architectural decision-making by assessing tradeoffs in cost, performance, scalability, and maintainability.

  • Provide strategic input for technology investment planning, vendor evaluations, and digital transformation efforts.

 

Education, Certification & Experience Requirements:

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 3 years in enterprise, solution, systems architecture.

 

Certification Required:

  • TOGAF, Zachman, or other enterprise architecture certifications (Preferred).

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent are a plus.

  • PMP, CISSP, or ITIL certifications are a plus.

 

Experience Required:

  • Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, DoDAF, FEAF, or Zachman.

  • Experience leading architecture in environments that support cloud (AWAS, Azure, GCP), hybrid infrastructure, and DevSecOps models.

  • Strong understanding of business process modeling, system interoperability, and data governance.

  • Experience with enterprise applications, middleware, and integration platforms (e.g., APIs, ESBs, microservices).

  • Familiarity with security architecture, zero trust principles, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA).

  •  

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of enterprise IT domains including cloud, cybersecurity, data, application, or infrastructure architecture.

  • Knowledge of federal enterprise architecture standards and mission-aligned IT planning.

  • Skill in producing architectural diagrams, standards, and roadmaps that guide large-scale technical initiatives.

  • Skill in stakeholder engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and technical mentorship.

  • Ability to assess current-state environments and define pragmatic transformation plans.

  • Ability to synthesize complex technical information for executive and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to lead architectural governance and enforce alignment with enterprise-wide policies and standards.
