Your journey starts now—protect and innovate with ManTech!ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Journeyman ITAR & Export Compliance Specialist to join our team in Doral, FL.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supports compliance with Department of State regulations for defense articles and services
Manage international supply and export orders, collaborate with buyers and vendors to obtain ITAR and export control information, and track ITAR items in shipping paperwork
Search and flag NSN and part numbers in the ERP system, provide tools and training materials for logistics and export activities, and compile information for license applications and export declarations
Help manage ITAR-related controls and processes and they interpret and apply ITAR regulations to company operations, including the identification of ITAR-controlled items and technologies
Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with ITAR and identify potential risks and they stay up to date on changes to ITAR regulations and provide training to employees on compliance requirements. They prepare, submit, and manage export license applications and agreements in accordance with ITAR requirements
Maintain accurate records of all export licenses and related documentation
Liaise with relevant Government agencies, such as the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), on export licensing matters
Assist in the development and implementation of Technology Control Plans to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized exports
Conduct technology control assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.
Assist in developing and delivering ITAR training programs to employees at all levels.
Promote awareness of ITAR compliance throughout the organization.
Create and maintain compliance resources and materials and they support FMS case analysis to minimize risk of an export violation
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, business administration, law, or a related field or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a required bachelor’s degree
4+ year experience with 2+years of relevant ITAR/Export Compliance Specialist
Experience with export licensing and technology control procedures.
Experience working with ITAR compliance, preferably within the defense, aerospace, or related industries.
Experience with IT and cybersecurity is highly valued.
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree in international relations, political science, business administration, law, or a related field.
Experience with other export control regulations, such as the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
Familiarity with compliance software and databases. Export Compliance Professional (ECoP), Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CU.S.ECO) in U.S. export control laws and regulations.
Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.
Clearance Requirements:
Must have an active Interim Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
