The Cyber Security Associate Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day cybersecurity operations, managing a team of security analysts or engineers, and supporting the implementation and maintenance of security controls and policies. This role ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization’s information systems and data, while coordinating incident response efforts and contributing to strategic security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and guide a team of cybersecurity professionals in monitoring, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management cyber governance, data loss prevention, third-party security assessments and security revalidations.
  • Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Assist in managing security tools and technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Collaborate with IT, compliance, risk, and business units to ensure security best practices are followed.
  • Lead and coordinate incident response activities, including investigation, documentation, mitigation, and reporting and ensure cyber incident escalation and communications plans are fully documented and regularly tested with senior stakeholders.
  • Participate in risk assessments and security audits, and support remediation efforts.
  • Stay informed about current and emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support training and awareness programs to educate employees on cybersecurity risks and policies.
  • Contribute to strategic cybersecurity planning and assist with budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Drive team priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of personal and company objectives.
  • Ensure processes are applied consistently and effectively across all QBE Divisions and that agreed service levels are met.
  • Communication of incident status to global and regional security and infrastructure teams.
  • Initiate and implement business-change projects to improve QBE's overall security posture.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maintain and improve QBE security and enhance knowledge and information sharing.
