Incident Response Analyst, Senior

Key Role:

Investigate security incidents, coordinate response efforts, and contribute to ongoing threat detection and containment within a federal IT environment. Respond to and resolve cybersecurity incidents escalated from the SOC, and proactively prevent reoccurrence of these incidents. Lead or support incident response activities including containment, eradication, and recovery. Document incident response processes, findings, and lessons learned in after-action reports (AARs). Develop and maintain playbooks, detection rules, and response workflows and contribute to continuous improvement of SOC operations and incident handling processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience supporting a Computer Incident Response Team, Cyber Network Operations, or Security Operations Center (SOC) operations
  • Experience with MITRE ATT&CK and NIST 800-61, including Computer Security Incident Handling Guide
  • Experience with Intelligence Driven Defense, Cyber Kill Chain methodology, or MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • Knowledge of SIEM tools, EDR platforms, packet capture and network analysis tools,
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, and protocols
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or IT field

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience responding to incidents in a federal government SOC or other regulated or high-security environment
  • Certification in Incident Response security operations, such as GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) Certification, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), EC-Council Certified Incident Handler (ECIH), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), GIAC Network Forensic Analyst (GNFA), or GIAC Cloud Forensics Responder (GCFR)

Vetting:
Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
