Your role

The Head of Security Projects Manager EMEA serves as the subject matter expert for implementing physical security standards and systems on projects within the region and will analyse physical security standards and system requirements and overlay these with business and DC site operations needs.
The Head of Security Projects Manager EMEA identify opportunities for efficiency, improvement of security standards and systems and the mitigating measures they are designed to achieve to support business objectives following the Global standards as set by the Global Security function. 

What you’ll do

  • Will lead EMEA Security Projects team and consultants in line with global design standards
  • Will input and collaborate into global standards and align regional requirements
  • In collaboration with design & construction, security, and information security stakeholders; will work to ensure that consistent, effective, and appropriate physical security standards and systems are implemented.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and point of contact for physical security systems and their operational application and impact at a regional level.
  • Monitor’s productivity of third-party consultants and assures key performance objectives are met.
  • Supports third-party consultant design reviews, RFIs, and approvals at critical architectural design and construction milestone stages.
  • Maintains strong relationships with internal IT, core technology and departmental stakeholder groups.
  • Responsible for maintaining security system governance aligned with company, industry, legislative and regulatory standards across the regions
  • Supports setting organizational goals including internal project budget creation and tracking along with project implementation and / or oversight
  • Actively contributes to defining the future structure of a regional security projects team and mentoring internal talent to support long-term delivery capacity.

    Security Project related responsibilities
  • Responsible for the application of security standards for new build data centres projects and major system upgrades by directing 3rd party consultants and/or county level teams.
  • Collaboration with Portfolio Security and DTEG to include physical security standards within Company design and engineering requirements
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates as assigned new installations and / or upgrades to existing security systems in accordance with established Global Security standards.
  • Provisions on-boarding of third-party consultants including scope creation, vendor review, recommendations, and training.
  • Develops project scopes of work and collaborates closely with external vendors to ensure physical security systems are implemented in an effective manner, on time and within budget.
  • Uses effective project management techniques to prioritise and maintain multiple complex technology deployments.
  • Demonstrates experience working on FSC, highly complex, multi-phase infrastructure projects, ideally within the data center or mission-critical environments.

Technical Expertise

  • Has extensive technical security knowledge and can demonstrate technical adaptability inline with risk management to provide expertise on designing the correct security design.
  • Maintains understanding of emerging security system technologies and their potential application within the business Assisting with Customer audits

Hard skills

  • Has extensive technical security knowledge and can demonstrate technical adaptability inline with risk management to provide expertise on designing the correct security design.
  • Maintains understanding of emerging security system technologies and their potential application within the business Assisting with Customer audits
  • Professional membership in bodies such as ASIS, The Security Institute, RSES or CPNI-recognised bodies is advantageous.
  • Experience and knowledge in access control, intruder detection, video management systems and other Security management system design, implementation and commissioning.
  • Security management practices
  • Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects with varying degrees of complexity, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the data centre industry and 10 years of general project management experience
  • Experience in identifying opportunities and efficiencies for the benefit of operational and technological uses.
  • Has experience in effectively handing over projects and providing training programmes to support seamless transitions.
  • Recent and relevant industrial physical security management experience, including the implementation and development of management systems within different countries.
  • Has proven experience with Security tendering process
  • Has proven experience integrating multiple software platforms to create synergies

  • Ability to build trust and foster alignment in a matrixed, international organisation.
  • Experience setting strategic direction with consistent improvement for technical teams or projects, even without direct authority.

  • Has experience in effectively handing over projects and providing training programmes to support seamless transitions.
