Senior Information Security Advisor (Risk)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Information Security Advisor (Risk) to join our dynamic team at Optus Enterprise, Delivery. In this role, you will be responsible for providing industry-leading security management, monitoring, administration, and support services to Optus Enterprise and Business (EB) clients as required. This role will support the security solutions and services to meet the client’s specific requirements or to support the Information Security Teams in delivering desired outcomes.

The day to day

• Identify, assess, and manage information security risks across the organisation.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies and frameworks.
• Collaborate with various teams to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
• Provide expert advice on security best practices and emerging threats.
• Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation measures.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies.
• Develop and deliver standards, procedures, and conduct risk management activities to ensure systems are appropriately configured in compliance with policy and technical standards.
• Ensure that compliance and validation activities are formally documented and effectively distributed.
• Work closely with various internal and external stakeholders and provide observations and recommendations for key decisions in the area of security, which may include operational technical support and other duties in support of the client and/or internal Optus environment.

Why you are our next Senior Information Security Advisor (Risk)

• Australian Citizen for Security Clearance purposes is essential.
• Proven experience in information security risk management.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards.
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong technical background in two or more security domains and skills that may have experience in some aspects of project delivery.
• Previous experience with security technologies and frameworks.
• Extensive experience a Senior Information Security Advisor or similar role (e.g., Information/Cyber Security Manager).
• Team management and mentoring experience.
• Sound knowledge of security/risk frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.
• Preferred technical knowledge of common security technologies (SIEM, SOAR, Firewalls, IPS, Endpoint protection Systems, Vulnerability Management, Web proxies, identity access management systems).
• Certification(s) in Security (CISSP, CISM, CRISC or similar).
