Position Details
The Information Technology and Security (ITS) – Information Security office at The University of Tampa has a position for an Information Security Analyst to join our team. Primary duties will include Workday security, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), Security Awareness Program administration, incident response, and handling a variety of ongoing operational duties in a team environment. An ability to solve problems, evaluate, assess, and/or improve information security controls that promote confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the University's information technology resources and data repositories, as well as compliance with regulatory and policy requirements. This position reports to the Senior information Security Analyst in the ITS Information Security department.
This position is designated as an essential employee and may be required to report to work as scheduled when University offices are closed due to severe weather or other conditions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Manages Workday security for domains, groups, roles and policies. Provides audit reports and reviews to ensure segregation of duties and appropriate access. Research, collect data, develop secure strategies and maximize productivity. Implement security principles while following strict privacy policies. Conduct assessments of enterprise environments and frequently monitor logs.
• Participates in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC). Conducts a variety of reviews of information technology and business processes (security reviews, risk assessments, security controls reviews and implementations, third party oversight. Continually update security procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and effective.
• Assists campus departments participating in security audits ensuring their business processes are compliant. Documents industry best practices and works with campus departments to redesign information handling practices where needed.
• Performs Incident Response & Management activities utilizing multiple information security monitoring systems. Promptly detect, contain, and mitigate security incidents and threats to university resources and data.
• Responsible for monitoring (including after-hours, weekends, and holidays for on call rotation), firewalls, Secure Email gateway, and other security tools that monitor and detect malware, system compromises, and email issues.
• Administers a robust Security Awareness Program. Conducts in-person security awareness training presentations for diverse audiences (staff, students, and faculty).
• Assists with other processes and projects as required. Working with other University departments to ensure the use of technologies aligns with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to policies and procedures as defined by ITS management and leadership.
• Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of all cultures and backgrounds.
Requirements
• Industry certifications and experience providing evidence of experience in completing diverse risk assessments, administering complex rights or privileges to enterprise applications.
• CISSP certification is required or must be obtained within 12 months, and candidates without a CISSP must have comparable industry and vendor security certifications (e.g., CISA, SANS, ISACA, and Microsoft) with the ability to earn additional certifications as required.
• Experience GRC security reviews, risk assessments, security controls reviews and implementations, third party oversight.
• Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the University of Tampa software programs, such as Workday and Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated excellence in teamwork as well as proficient oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or Computer Science from an accredited higher education institution, or the ability to enroll and complete degree requirements.
• Experience working in the higher education sector.
• Experience working with a wide variety of technical staff, managers, executives, and vendors.
• 3 years’ experience in Workday security, reporting, configuration and management of groups, roles and policies or in a similar ERP system.
• Experience with Kainos Smart Audit.
• Previous experience in ISO 27001 Certification.
• Experience working with Security Awareness Training platforms.
• Experience in Incident Response and security monitoring and detection tools.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Effectiveness in producing desired results and achieving goals and objectives while working independently.

Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summer: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Rotational on call as required for after hours, weekends, and holidays.
