Senior Network Engineer - Camp Humphreys, Korea

Responsibilities

OBXtek is currently staffing for a Senior Network Engineer supporting the Army’s Global Enterprise Network Modernization – OCONUS (GENM-O) organization with place of performance located at Camp Humphreys, Korea. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, and evaluate new and existing network systems and services, including local area networks, wide area networks, intranets, and the Internet, providing analytical, technical, and administrative support.
• Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software
• Provide documentation and project management support as well as technical expertise in matters of transport, installation, and implementation for delivery of global network infrastructure
• Research emerging technologies. Evaluate their performance and assess their impact on the networking environment
• Perform as a subject matter expert (SME) for network/transport systems, executing site surveys and assisting with planning and implementation of site preparation activities worldwide
• Attend meetings, working groups, design reviews, and technology discussions which will need to be analyzed, filtered, and captured within architecture development initiatives
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver briefings, white papers, working papers and technical analyses representing the position of GENM-O mission requirements

• Provide technical direction for IT projects, such as high-availability and virtualization.

• Lead efforts collaboratively with developers, designers, product owners, and partner organizations to rapidly develop prototype technical software and hardware solutions.

• Collaborate with various agencies and programs, serving as a solutions consultant to determine optimal cloud solutions.

• Participate in Agile software development sprints and sprint planning activities.

• Define solution acceptance criteria and assist in software testing.

• Evaluating environments for migration, working in sandboxes, and architecting solutions tailored to the needs of the Army.

• Coordinate solution design and architecture with existing project teams to ensure alignment with Army projects.

• Work directly with implementation teams to provide technical guidance and implementation priorities.

• Coordinate technical execution of all transformation projects and deconflict Design, develop and implement an Enterprise data management solution to enhance customer operations.

• Direct customer engagements to determine requirements and provide technical updates to the Product Manager.

Travel: Some travel can be expected (both OCONUS and CONUS)

Qualifications

Active Secret Clearance

Experience:

• 5-8 years experience in design and computer network architecture and data communication networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks experience

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or in a Science related field
• Cisco certification of CCNP Security or IAT Level III (CASP+CE, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP)

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in a Science related field
