SMX harnesses the transformative power of technology to help realize your digital future.SMX is looking for a highly motivated Senior Windows Systems Administrator to join our team in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in Dahlgren, VA.
The Senior Windows Systems Administrator will work as part of our team to support the daily operations, monitoring and troubleshooting of Windows systems. The administrator will monitor Windows systems performance, associated software and hardware, diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, configuring internal systems, managing the security and permissions of user accounts, creating and maintaining backup and recovery, and updating technical documentation and upgrading system components. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
This position will be onsite in Dahlgren, VA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide daily administration and maintenance for Windows servers and systems
- Monitoring performance of servers
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
- Manage system security and permissions of user accounts
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery for windows systems
- Create/Update technical documentation for systems and components
- Cross team collaboration with software developers, system architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall system architecture and strategic goals
Required Skills & Experience
- Clearance Required: Secret
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret
- Master’s level degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems
- 7+ years of experience
- Backup and Recovery of Windows systems
- Software Management
- Windows system security management
- Installation and configuration of COTs software products
- Proficient with major network security tools such as firewalls
- Proficient with network protocols including TCP/IP
- Vulnerability detection and remediation
- IAT III certification such as CISSP, CISM, GSLC, CASP or equivalent

The proposed salary for this position is:$96,000—$175,300 USD
