Role

As an Direct Support Network Engineer, you will be embedded with Operations team members and developers. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving security innovation and implementation directed by the customer's priorities and maximizing their security posture as a whole. You will develop technical solutions that support the establishment and maintenance of key Operations infrastructure. We are looking for a passionate information security professional who thrives as part of a demanding, fast-paced team supporting real-world operations. You will often lead the implementation of new tech for the customer and has a desire to learn and apply automated and cutting-edge practices. *This is an on-site position that will require full time presence in Annapolis Junction, MD.*

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and maintenance of automated cybersecurity technical solutions.
• Develop and integrate cybersecurity best practices for Kubernetes clusters and DevOps pipelines.
• Manage deployment and implementation of cybersecurity best practices in Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications (Docker etc.)
• Generates technical software and hardware-in-the-loop artifacts supporting authorization  (i.e. SSP, PPSM, SCTM).
• Maintain communication with project engineers on the implementation of security controls and policy enforcement.
• Support the implementation of technologies into the CI/CD processes and systems to establish secure-by-default standards for customer products.
• Evaluate, develop and/or implement information assurance guidelines and procedures as required.
• Recommend and implement security solution mitigations and enhancements supporting information assurance guidelines and customer requirements.
• Perform vulnerability/risk analysis of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.
• Ensure that all information systems meet or exceed compliance requirements.
• Identify, report, and ensure the resolution of security violations.
• Monitor and review the regular updates/upgrades to equipment and procedures to maintain pace with cybersecurity requirements and business needs.

 

Minimum Qualifications

• 2-6 years of experience working as an ISSE. If leveraging ISSO experience, you must also have held other technical system/network administrative roles.
• Current US TS Clearance with SCI
• Current DoDM 8570 IAT Level III Certification
• Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders and team members
• Strong understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and solid understanding of the Software and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience auditing and performing control assessments
• Knowledge of microservices/service mesh architectures
• Experience performing Network Analysis, not just Host-Based
• Experience using Linux
• In-Depth Knowledge of Syslog Standard
• Experience with Kubernetes or other orchestration solutions
• Experience deploying and configuring containers
• Experience with integrating technologies and security solutions on information systems
• Demonstrated experience with ATO packages
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, microservices and DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Hands-on experience or certifications using Kubernetes/Docker (e.g. CKAD)
• Ability to identify needed changes to processes and activities and help to implement continuous improvement solutions
• Have experience creating various types of vulnerability and assessment scans
• Understanding of Software development and Code review techniques
• Experience using Graylog or Malcolm
• Experience supporting Special Operations Forces or US Government Cyber Mission Forces
