Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.

  • If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership. 
  • If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Strong understanding of cloud-based infrastructure and applications, including AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Relevant certifications in business resilience, disaster recovery, or cloud-based infrastructure and applications are a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery program management
  • Extensive experience in Business resilience strategy design and plan development
  • Extensive experience in conducting DR Requirements Analysis and Reviews, and Plan/Procedure development workshops.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, conducting, and reporting on IT Disaster Recovery exercises, conducting structured reviews of exercise performance, and tracking remedial action.
  • Proficient using and administering planning software
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with Aflac’s senior management, and with internal and external business contacts; ability to exhibit and maintain professionalism in accordance with corporate standards
  • Demonstrated project management skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities within deadlines
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices and industry standards. Such as ISO 22301 or NFPA 1600

 

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Security or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in technology risk, cybersecurity, business resilience, disaster recovery, or infrastructure management
  • Proven track record of leading the transformation or modernization of enterprisewide technology programs.
  • Demonstrated success in driving cross-functional collaboration, change management, and stakeholder engagement to achieve measurable improvements in program maturity
  • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and operationalizing new frameworks, processes, or technologies
  • Expert knowledge of technical strategies, company support strategies, industry trends, and new products and technologies
  • Experience with projects in multiple technologies, functions, and industries

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the overhaul of the DR governance function to adapt to hybrid environments (on-premises, cloud, SaaS) and cyber-focused threats
  • Develop, maintain, and update modern DR and resilience policies, standards, and frameworks to ensure they align with business goals and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the integration of cybersecurity response and recovery plans with traditional DR to ensure coordinated action during cyber incidents
  • Collaborate with IT, security, business continuity, risk management, and executive teams to embed resilience into the organization’s culture and decision-making processes
  • Assist in designing and guiding innovative, scenario-based drills that simulate real-world threats, such as cyberattacks and multi-cloud failures
  • Develop and communicate resilience and recovery metrics, providing actionable insights to senior leaders and the board
  • Stay informed about emerging risks, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance the resilience program
  • Performs other related duties as required

 

Total Rewards

The salary range for this job is $160,000 to $200,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.

 

At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
