About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Intelligence Analyst Senior in our Virginia Fusion Center (VFC) at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will research, evaluation, and dissemination of cyber intelligence information to support prevention and response efforts for cyber-crime; conduct analysis of multi-faceted data in order to show methods, trends, and patterns relating to cyber-crime; serve in support of significant responsibilities of the VFC Cyber Intelligence Team as defined in the COV Cyber Response Annex; provide cyber intelligence support to investigations; compile reports and projects relating to cyber intelligence criminal activity on the aforementioned topics as needed; provide assistance for special projects in the Fusion Center as needed; and will strive to look at the use of technology; to include internet exploitation and cell phone technology.

Minimum Qualifications

•Knowledge of basic system administration and operating system hardening techniques; of incident response and handling methodologies; of cybercrime tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to include website defacements, denial of service attacks, ransomware; of various security methodologies, processes, and hardware including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS); and knowledge or understanding of computer forensic techniques.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate technical cyber matters to a variety of audiences.
•Working knowledge of or experience assisting others with the following is beneficial: log analysis, NetFlow analysis, incident response, malware analysis, computer forensics, and/or penetration testing services.
•Valid driver’s license.
•Ability to obtain a federal security clearance.
•Requires three-year commitment to the Virginia Fusion Center and ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Additional Considerations

•Experience in cybersecurity, information technology, public safety, or intelligence analysis preferred.
•Public safety experience or other broad scope of governmental experience preferred.
