About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Network and Telecommunications Engineer who will be working within the Monitoring business unit of Chubb reporting to the Monitoring Technology Group Manager based in our Rydalmere (Sydney) office.  As a Network and Telecommunications Engineer, you will be key to our Digital Team, maintaining secure, high-performance networks, telephony, and applications while driving upgrade projects across Chubb ANZ business. Partnering with our Global Network team, you’ll resolve operational challenges, ensure the provision of 24/7 support, and mentor peers to nurture a collaborative culture.

Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure uninterrupted service by delivering rapid incident resolution and high-level technical support for complex network, telephony, and enterprise application environments operating 24/7.

  •  Implement and document robust maintenance protocols—including regular backups, patching, upgrades, and daily health assessments—to uphold system stability and data integrity.

  •  Architect and deploy scalable, secure network infrastructures that align with evolving business needs and enhance overall system resilience.

  •  Oversee the administration and optimization of core network systems, using proactive troubleshooting and system evaluations to minimize downtime and improve performance.

  •  Provide clear technical updates to stakeholders, establish comprehensive disaster recovery strategies, and maintain detailed operational documentation to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

Technical Expertise

  • Hands-on expertise with Cisco technologies (CUCM, UCCX, CUBE) and telephony integration platforms (Cloud-based telephony platforms, MS Teams).

  • Proficient in configuring and managing network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and site-to-site VPN setups.

  • Thorough understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), IP addressing, and subnetting strategies.

  • Skilled in system troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performing critical health checks under high-pressure environments.

  • Familiarity with SQL/T-SQL, Windows Server, Active Directory, Citrix, VMware, DHCP, and DNS administration.

Qualifications & Education:

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency (mandatory)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a STEM related field.
  • Industry recognised certifications such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), are highly desirable.
  • Be able to obtain or hold a Security Licence
  • Australian Driver’s License

Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering and telecommunications
  • Demonstrated success operating within a complex and / or global organizational environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in managing IT networks and telephony systems, including associated applications.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with key stakeholders, with a strong understanding of business needs and priorities (mandatory).
