Threat Prevention Engineering, a core pillar of the Cyber Defence Fusion Center at Zendesk, is a globally distributed team of passionate, motivated, and focused security engineers. What you get to do every day:
Design and build advanced, cloud-based threat prevention infrastructure tailored to our SaaS environment, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and resilience.
Develop solutions that enable proactive defense of the Zendesk business using Go, Python, Java, and other coding languages.
Integrate various security tools and technologies to create a cohesive and effective threat prevention ecosystem.
Review projects to identify risks and suggest ways to manage those risks.
Analyze intricate problem statements and diverse use cases to develop & implement robust Cyber Security solutions that address our organizational needs.
Influence our partners to drive security control improvements throughout the business.
Collaborate with DevOps, software engineering, IT, and compliance teams to integrate security best practices and advance our cybersecurity capabilities.
Evaluate and enhance existing security measures, staying abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies.
What you bring to the role:
A team first, collaborative approach.
The ability to influence other teams without direct authority.
Excellent problem-solving skills and self-motivation to learn and upskill regularly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to complete an ability to work in a global, asynchronous manner.
At least 10 years of experience in Security, with at least 5 years of cloud infrastructure development, software engineering, and SaaS security.
Extensive experience with enterprise security tools and technologies.
Programming experience involving real-world development.
Strong understanding of AWS products and services, their unique risks, and how to address those risks.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a capability to innovate and create custom solutions.
Nice to have:
AWS certifications or other cloud based certifications.
Security certifications such as SABSA, CISSP, GSEC, GWEB, GPEN, OSCP, CEH, CCSP, etc.
Experience designing, managing, and securing data lake solutions, such as Snowflake.
Involvement in local or regional security user groups or conferences.
Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
