What is the opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to direct our Access Certification Management team within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of professionals responsible for ensuring that access to our organization's systems, data, and applications is properly authorized, certified, and compliant with regulatory requirements. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our organization's assets.
What will you do?
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve access certification processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and oversight to the Access Certification Management team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Access Certification and Compliance:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of access certification policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that access certification processes are integrated with existing IAM systems and workflows.
- Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of professionals, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management to ensure team members have the necessary skills and expertise.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.
- Process Improvement and Automation:
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate access certification processes, leveraging technology to improve efficiency, reduce manual work effort & errors, and enhance the overall user experience.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and implement process improvements and automation solutions.
- Risk Management and Audit:
- Work closely with IAM governance, internal audit and risk management teams to identify and mitigate access-related risks, ensuring that access certification processes are aligned with organizational risk tolerance.
- Develop and implement remediation plans to address audit findings and risk gaps.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and external partners.
- Communicate access certification plans, progress, and results to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and buy-in.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in identity and access management, with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of access certification principles, regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, GDPR), and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams, with a strong focus on collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance technical and business requirements.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and security technologies, including IAM systems, directories, and authentication protocols.
- Certification in a relevant field (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) is highly desirable.
