What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Technical Writer to create high-quality, user-centered documentation for our systems, processes and services. The successful candidate will have, excellent writing and communication skills, a strong technical background and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The Technical Writer will be responsible for developing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, including bot imited to process flows and procedures documents, governance documents, infrastructure diagrams, user manuals and guides, release notes, and online help systems.
The role also has a heavy focus on creation and maintenance of documentation that will be used in audits, control testing and regulatory examinations.

What will you do?
Develop and maintain technical documentation: Create high-quality, accurate, and concise documentation for products and services, including process flows, procedure documents, governance documents, process narratives, user manuals, guides, release notes, and online help systems, in accordance with corporate standards.
Collaborate with subject matter experts: Work closely with Infrastructure pillars to gather information, clarify technical concepts, and ensure documentation accuracy. Collaborate with IT in support of documentation to enable control design and controls testing, and more comprehensive retention of institutional knowledge.
Conduct research and interviews: Research and interview subject matter experts to gather information, understand technical concepts, and develop documentation.
Edit and revise documentation: Review, edit, and revise documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guides and brand standards.
Create visual aids and graphics: Develop diagrams, flowcharts, and other visual aids to support documentation and enhance user understanding.
Maintain documentation management systems: Organize, maintain, and update documentation repositories, including version control systems and content management systems.
Participate in agile development processes: Collaborate with development teams to ensure documentation is integrated into the development process and meets the needs of users.
Identify process improvements opportunity for future process design/changes that increase efficiencies while considering impact and integrity of the business processes.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies: Continuously update knowledge and skills to stay current with industry developments, best practices, and new technologies.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Communications, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a knowledge management specialist or lead technical writer.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT Operations and Technology domain for development of process/controls documentation.
Minimum 5 years’ experience with industry standard documentation or knowledge management tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Confluence), preferably within the financial services industry, a public accounting firm, or with a financial institutions or regulator.
Knowledge of industry framework such as COBIT, NIST, FFIEC.
Experience with content management systems, such as Confluence, SharePoint, or GitHub, expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
Ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content for various audiences. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. Ability to analyze complex technical information and simplify it for users.
Strong research and interviewing skills to gather information and clarify technical concepts. Meticulous attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality documentation.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Able to work in a structured team environment on task and timeline driven work.
Nice to have
Experience in IT risk management
Have high level knowledge of technology/platforms (Hosting, Database, Middleware, Network, Datacenter, Network Security, Data Security, Vulnerability Management, SMO, Architecture, Disaster Recovery, Capacity & Performance Management, IT Operations etc.)
High-level knowledge of banking regulations such as FINRA, SEC, MSRB, FRBNY, OCC
