About the Team

About the Team:
Workday’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) team plays a crucial role in securing and managing access across our global organization. We are responsible for the operational management of our existing IAM platform, which includes key technologies such as Okta, Thycotic, Microsoft Active Directory (MS AD), and Azure Active Directory. As a geographically distributed team, we provide essential support to our global counterparts, ensuring seamless and secure access for all users. Our team's objective is two-fold: to maintain the stability and efficiency of our current IAM platforms while also actively striving to enhance their scope and capabilities to meet evolving business needs and security requirements. We are a dedicated group of strong technical and operational engineers committed to excellence in IAM service delivery and innovation.

About the Role

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic IAM Manager to lead our Identity and Access Management operations. This critical role will oversee the operational health of our IAM technology landscape, ensuring its stability, security, and efficiency. The IAM Manager will guide, manage, and direct the operations team, taking ownership of technology maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous service improvement. This leader will also play a key role in driving technical initiatives, integrating IAM with the broader technology landscape, and supporting our cybersecurity and compliance efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IAM technology landscape, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Team Management: Guide, mentor, and direct the IAM operations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Service Level Management: Monitor ticket queues, ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and manage workload allocation effectively.
  • Escalation Point: Serve as the primary point of contact for service level issues, escalations, and critical incidents related to IAM operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for continuous improvement of IAM services, processes, and the overall technology landscape.
  • Technology Upgrades: Lead, drive, and manage IAM technology upgrade projects, ensuring smooth and successful implementations.
  • SDLC Management: Oversee the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for IAM-related changes and deployments.
  • Business Integration: Drive conversations with business stakeholders to seamlessly integrate various technology landscapes with our IAM systems.
  • Technical Architecture: Play an architect-level role in proposing future-state IAM strategies, solutions, and implementation approaches.
  • Security and Compliance: Support cybersecurity initiatives, regulatory compliance efforts, and internal/external audits related to Identity and Access Management.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Define, track, and manage key operational metrics, SLAs, documentation standards, and generate regular performance reports.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Are you being referred to one of our roles? If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process!
